*Shoves a big, weighted, accurate looking plushie of Howard through Phillip’s computer. It had small, adjustable green tentacles that were covered in very soft fur. It had on Howard’s favorite outfit and buttons that weren’t green but instead the color Howard’s eyes were before.*

The large, weighted replica of Phillip fell through the warped screen and Howard scrambled to catch the upper half before the rest tumbled to the ground. It looked familiar in a way that he thought he'd already forgotten about. This facsimile of Phillip wasn't wearing a gas mask, it had a semblance of a face. His face. The one he hadn't seen in months.

He carried him like an injured patient, plush feet dragging across the floor while Howard tried to find a place to put him. Eventually he settled on a dusty chair inside the room with the computer. His head flopped to the side with his weak plush neck having not much support.

A second large plush, this time of Howard, slumped through the screen after Phillip was set down on the chair. It had his tentacles, but it also had his old brown eyes, his old hat and coat as well. This version of him was the version that Howard barely remembered.

He carelessly dragged the arm of his plush duplicate to Phillip's chair and threw him on the floor next to him. It felt weird seeing this vulnerable, weak looking toy of himself and he felt disconnected from it.

It had been a bit and Howard was busy in the lab. Phillip had come to see him for arguably the first time in a long time, but when he showed up to his office all he saw were the plush versions of themselves. He skimmed the features of his duplicate and then shifted his gaze to the Howard plush.

After a bit, Howard returned to the lab and his plush version was gone from Phillip's side. He already knew.

decided to pick back up from where i left off on my eldritch vessel howard and scientist phillip au

so like, yeah the doctor, howard and phillip are on the island doing... whatever the heck and in that time they manage to revive samantha (how? don't ask me! i don't know either!!)

angelique in the meantime was living normally and studying, creating her research lab but not without a looming dread and concern over howard and phillip

on december the 23rd of the next year after angelique left the island, she goes back because she knows she needs to stop the operations before something else bad happens on christmas eve, takes nessie out for a ride and heads out

she's rockin that fit!

oh yeah, she also has a... a gun

anyway, she finds a young teen girl who only goes by K, she's found being suddenly grabbed by those weird alive lamp posts that i forgot the name of which angelique goes and saves her from them

angelique never knew she was on the island before and all she discusses about her past is that i guess they just never found her but ange senses something off because she doesn't seem human in a way and has an unusual bandage on her right hand

angelique also internally debates whether she's one of howard's or phillip's because she resembles them quite a bit

no, she's not the same samantha. she's mainly been chained in her and the doctor's bedroom since he died and angelique takes pity on her and ends her suffering

so how does this end ??? (uhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

angie finds phillip , distracts him and locks a door shut behind him with no other way to stop her from getting to the doctor's (now howard's) study, knocks him out, performs a ritual to go inside of his mind and defeat the great elder one from there. yayyyyyyy uuugghhhcim so tired

howard is no longer being influenced by the great elder one, hypnorock™ is just gone now they take K with them, go back to the mainland with nessie, everything's all peachy and fine

ik i said this was more of a post-game au, but it really does feel like a swap au sometimes when you notice K is kind of a parallel to angelique and howard replaces the doctor

Scientist Phillip + Eldritch Vessel Howard

in this AU, when Howard takes on The Great Elder One, it decides to possess him in order to preserve his glory, and now Howard is his vessel alongside Dr. Morose.

He treads back to the doctor's office, head pounding, no memory of the event other than the apparent migraine. The doctor finds him collapsed on the floor next to a very worried Phillip, but decides to be lenient on the trespasser and instead finds potential in him that he didn't see before.

Howard, now under The Great Elder One's influence, sees the doctor as an equal, and much to Phillip's dismay, decides to work for him.

He's back in his old lab coat, and the island is as miserable as before, just with more new unfortunate souls in tow to help with the doctor's plans.

hypnorock™ is back too and Phillip's just a liiiiiiiiiiittle crazy about it

The Great Elder One is gone. Only Howard remains.

And Phillip now works for both of them.

As for Angelique...

she escaped the island, opened her research lab and became a renowned figure on the mainland. But she does miss the boys and wonder what happened.
