Umi: I know where this is going…okay, everyone, let’s just keep it brief with types and some examples. We’ll take turns. Hanayo? Why don’t you go ahead, and we’ll go from there.
Hanayo: Oh! Okay! I’m generally into alternative rock, like Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco. A-and of course I love idol music!
Rin: I’m into pop mostly—but I also like whatever Kayo-chin likes!
Umi: I listen to classical music, usually. It helps me think.
Honoka: There’s more idol music than classic on your phone, Umi-chan…
Umi: DON’T GO THROUGH MY PHONE! I-I’m just…scoping out the competition…and besides, it’s not your turn yet! Maki, your turn.
Maki: I listen to instrumental music. Piano, mainly. I feel like it helps me improve as a composer.
Nico: Ha! No you don’t! You have Taylor Swift on your IPod!
Maki: S-Shut up! I do not!
Nico: Uh-huh. Whatever. Anyway, my turn. I like Girl’s Generation and Anamamaguchi, and Beyonce and OH! Starish! They have GREAT music. And OH MY GOD I can’t forget Nicki! Loooooveee Nicki Minaj—I listen to her alllll the time and oh! How could I forget–
Umi: Hang on, hang on! They asked for a type of music—why are you listing all these artists?
Nico: I don’t just listen to one type! I listen to a lot of different types.
Maki: Then just say that.
Umi: Enough, please! Nozomi, please just go…
Nozomi: Right…I listen to indie music. Halsey, Bastille and the like. Just music that makes you think about life.
Eli: I do enjoy Nozomi’s music—but I typically listen to whatever’s good on the radio.
Kotori: I like soft pop mostly. I like Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson. I think they have very powerful voices!
Honoka: My turn? Oh—I LOVE Adele, Fifth Harmony and school idols—
Umi: Stop, that’s good.
Honoka: And Coldplay and I basically everything everyone just mentioned and–
Honoka: Brittany Spears and I cry a lot when John Legend sings—he’s got a great voice…and Arianna Grande, and Selena Gomez…
