“You’re fine, you have nothing to apologize for.” Brett was already packed, he didn’t have very much to bring with him so it was a quick process. Standing right up in front of Dave, he brought his hands up to his boyfriend’s chest as those arms wrapped around him and he slid his fingers upwards until he could lace them behind the other man’s head. “We’ll go home and we’ll enjoy our time together there and take care of business. It’s all good. I had fun here, with you. This was a really awesome surprise, I’m still stunned. I never thought I’d have the opportunity to do anything like this.”

Good to know it’s obvious that I’m gonna sing with Dave, because that’s definitely gonna happen. Thanks, we were both pretty nervous but it was fun to do together. I’ll take you up on that, yeah. I don’t really recognize you, but I’m all for making new friends. And remembering old ones if I forgot you. I do that sometimes too.

Hey Prom King Brett!  It is important to ask the right questions.  Ah, see, is it just on the menu because they need it for a banana split anyway?   That sounds yummy though.  I love bananas.  And now I’m hungry for pizza.   How do you do that?  Is it magic?   Thank you for answering though, although your answers were unexpected.  But that’s important in an experiment too, to get results outside the expected.  Is it because it’s tropical?  Do you pretend you are somewhere warm and sandy, and not in Lima?  Because I tried that once with coconuts and it didn’t work the way I hoped.

Prom King, yeah! That was pretty cool, happy for the callback. I am always hungry for pizza, so I get you there. Unexpected is good though, right? A surprise is always better than boring. I dunno about tropical, it just tastes good. You’ve gotta commit to a flavor combo with sundaes, it’s either gotta be a peanut butter/caramel/coffee type of thing or a fruity kind of thing. Coconut is good too, especially with pineapple. Those would go well together with a sundae, actually.

Having Brett as close as he was had once felt so foreign to Dave, though now he couldn’t imagine anything between them being any different. It had been over a month since Brett had asked the question Dave had waited so long to hear, and things could not have been any more perfect than what they were. With each passing day, more of Dave’s walls came tumbling down, and he found himself falling deeper into Brett with every breath. The feeling of his boyfriend’s fingertip as it slid gently over his lips drew a soft gasp, followed by a light laugh as it continued its journey along his jawline. Shaking his head, Dave gave a lopsided grin. “I’m not, really. But its really, really stellar that you think so. It’s almost funny, too, because I think the same thing about you. You’re perfect.” He replied, punctuating his words with a kiss to Brett’s lips. “I might have guessed as much, but that’s not something you have to think about. Not ever again. I want to go everywhere with you. To explore everything. To see things and experience things…Together.” Dave’s cheeks flushed at his own admission, though he pressed on. “Mercy has been practically begging me to come to New York. Sebastian has mentioned it a few times, too. How does that sound to you? A week in the city?”

“You are,” Brett insisted defiantly, with a playful tone and bouncing eyebrows. His gaze never left Dave and he stayed as close as he could be, returning every affection and granting plenty of his own. Brett was a touchy person, he was all about physical affection. There wasn’t a moment where he wasn’t touching Dave in some gentle way. Especially when they kissed and while he listened to the other man. “Okay, I give in. Do you need anything from me to make this happen? When do you wanna go? It sounds like your friends miss you. I’d miss you too, if I was out in New York and you were still here. I’ll go anywhere with you though. Just say the word. Or even don’t. Just pick me up and carry me there. Dragging works too. Or luring with the scent of pizza and cookies like Bugs Bunny.”
