CONTEXT
Sonic and Shadow are lesbians?! Thanks to a magic anon over on @askthehedgehogs, the Regular Hedgehogs got to meet their genderswapped selves, Fionna and Cake style! The girls were half way through a date when they were teleported directly to the boys' world (while they were on their honeymoon... poor guys). Luckily, once the lesbians found their way back home, Tails and Tails pooled their genius and found a way to connect their worlds so that they could continue to visit each other. They're back in their own world now, with Lyra and Nova, and decided to set up a blog inspired by the boys! Check out their origins from @askthehedgehogs in chronological order here: YURI ORIGINS
STORY SO FAR
The girls' canon diverges from that of the boys. They met during the events of Sonic Adventure 2, but Sonic was working with GUN and instructed to capture Shadow. We also know that Sonic was the one to sacrifice herself in the fight against the Finalhazard, and Shadow saved her. Sonic then went through a recovery period of six months, throughout which she was out of commission. Shadow worked with Team Dark to hold the fort until Sonic could return.
The girls started dating later in their timeline than the boys, but they moved in together pretty quickly after they started dating, and only had one wedding.
Lyra and Nova are their little twins, both lab-grown with the help of Tails and notes on Shadow's creation taken from the ARK. After an eventful few days with the yaoihogs, it was discovered that the babies do have powers; Lyra can bubble and explode objects smaller than them, and Nova can teleport anything that Lyra has bubbled. They can also both bounce!
TAGS LIST
Nova shows symptoms of Chaos Sickness, just as Shadow does. They both require Limiter Rings and both suffer from time to time from their illness.
Shadow recently went through a very difficult and unexpected pregnancy that has left her with permanent chronic pain and worsened Chaos Sickness symptoms. She now uses a cane or a wheelchair to get around, and tires quickly. But the pregnancy brought Lustre to the world on December 3rd, 2025. Lustre is a little ball of anger—technically a Shadow clone, but with Sonic's Chaos Signature mixed in, and an unexplained hatred for Sonic! Luckily, Sonic just finds it adorable. After all, Shadow once hated her, too.
