but all i taste is bitterness

in denial

you search for love in other people

when what you need is to search for love

within yourself

swiping right to ease the pain

of a heartbreak that once was

swiping right to cope with

a sadness that still remains

swiping right

just because

you’re too afraid

of emotions that were once possible

but migrated into something

that seems so unattainable

so you become emotionally unavailable

telling everyone

She’d let go of your every mistake because your skin felt soft, when it was actually cracked. And your words felt real and your lips tasted like strawberry starbursts. She never told you that was her favorite candy.”
