Mia listened to every word. People’s stories had always enthralled her, ever since she was a little girl. She adored how there was always so much more than met the eye. People were a constant surprise, so complex, and Mia often struggled to represent that in her writing.
“Wow, that’s a lot… I’m amazed you’re even still standing right now. You might need this oxygen more than I do.” She teased with a smile.
“Ha, I need something.  Maybe electroshock therapy.  I hear a couple thousand volts of electricity really wakes up the brain,” Aspen joked.  “Luckily, I have a week and a half off.  The owner has a conference in Massachusetts and is using the time away to hire a contractor in to do some cosmetic work on the place.” Â
