Hey Guys!

Soooo, I noticed that I haven't posted anything on this blog for a while! So I figured that I would introduce myself! I'm Brigid, and I'm a full time college student studying American Sign Language and Psychology. I'm hoping to either go into interpreting or education. I'm hard of hearing and I am also gradually losing my vision. Disabilities aside, I like to write so my writing blog is @baldurs-simps. I cover my hair, let’s talk about it.

Many people on my dads side are Jewish and the women they cover their hair with sheitels or wigs after they marry as a reminder that their beauty is sacred and can only be seen by family members and their spouses. I growing up as a Methodist Christian thought it was so cool to do and that I wanted to do it when I got married even though I wasn’t religiously Jewish. Now that I’m older I’ve started to cover my hair first I was very afraid of the judgement that I would get mostly from my parents but from others as well but now hair covering is a big part of my identity as a Jewish woman. Although I’m not married nor will I probably ever be, I see hair coverings as a way to show your faith and it personally makes me feel closer to G-d and better about myself and who I am. I don’t cover with sheitels I cover with tichels which are scarves. Although I still face judgement from my immediate family, my peers, and the people that I work with, I am very proud of my faith and to be covering my hair more. Anyway I just wanted to say that lol y’all have a good night

Being aromantic or asexual doesn’t make you broken! You are fine just the way you are and there’s nothing wrong with you. Trust me as a fellow aromantic I have had internalized arophobia and I’ve tried to stray away from being aromantic and just try to have romantic relationships with people but it just wasn’t me. Now that I’m accepting who I am, a queer, aromantic, genderfluid person I feel much better about myself that I’m not forcing myself to fit in to something that I’m not. So please don’t try and change yourself to be something you’re not
