The Grackle puff show offs have begun, and it is always a great time to watch the rivaling displays. They were good at hiding and getting out of frame today but they were so fun and active that I decided to make a video. The last piece is there because it contains the strangest noises. Maybe a Starling, maybe a camera mic malfunction, maybe both?
I loved this little scene that the Maxdone trail cam captured. The plant framing them was just too cute. I continue to be impressed with this tiny camera, the colors are fabulous too. Cardinals can be a challenge for budget cameras because they are so vibrant but they look pretty good here.
This is something you may see on hot days - this Blue Jay is not injured, it is taking a sunbath. It is done for skin care and grooming and helps with parasites. I always love seeing it because it feels like they have to feel perfectly safe when they do it.
I recently saw this with a Stellar's Jay (the same bird pictured here) and it initially had me worried it was sick or injured! Very relieving to learn about this interesting behavior.
Wonder Woman: Batman, we could make good use of Nightwing with this. Would you call him?
Dick, who's filling in for Bruce as Batman: I'll call him
---
Hal: you've gained some muscles
Jason, dressed as Nightwing: I started working out
Hal: Damn. What's the routine cause I just saw you last week and you look completely different.
Jason: steroids
Dick, as batman: *chokes on coffee*
---
Superman: We might need someone who's good with guns, hm... Hey Nightwing you're in contact with redhood, right? Could you have him come?
Jason, as Nightwing: ... I don't see why not
---
Wonder woman: this security is an issue we need someone who can hack this system long enough for us to get pass
Superman: hey hood, any chance you can give red robin a call?
Tim, with 5 inches of padding, as redhood: on it
---
Hal: isn't robin usually with you all?
Flash: yeah we could use him with this one
Superman: Red Robin, would you call in Robin for us?
Damian, in red robin costume: he's dead
Wonder Woman: I really thought we could get them to bring in the cow dressed as Robin
Superman: do you think if we stall long enough for actual Batman to recover we might get Bruce up here in scaly shorts? Is it worth a try?

Y'know when you're doing a quick painting study and get all swept up in the moment 😅 I didn't know this would turn out so hyper-realistic, I'm suddenly nervous about AI accusations for the first time in my art journey (fuck AI, to be clear)
