IT’S OKAY
We finished our exam yesterday and I cried right after the bell rung. I couldn’t fathom why I had a hard time answering the questions. I pulled up an all nighter, slept for two hours and felt like I’m all good but when I started answering the questions, I feel like I barely got one question right. So when I got back home, I told my mom she shouldn’t be surprised if I failed my math. Her reply was the one that shocked me. Maybe it’s because I got used to the stereotype that parents get mad when you fail. Her reaction, however, was the opposite. She was shocked at first. It was evident all over her face. She asked me why and I said I don’t know. She said “It’s okay. We can’t do anything else. That’s the capacity of your mind. There are still two quarters left. Just do well.” I learned that grades aren’t what make you happy. It’s the positive and reassuring remarks you get from the people around you. It’s what gives you motivation to strive harder.
