officially caught up in my history class! I got a bit behind for a couple of weeks and I wanted to get back on track before I start my new job on Monday, and I did so yay.
one more week and then a final for my history class, two more weeks and then a final for my sustainability class! and then a nice, long break before fall term begins. hopefully my finals won’t be too rough, since I’ll be adjusting to working again.
y’all wish me luck at my new job and on acing my finals! :) hope everyone is doing well <3
autumn on campus ~~
wish I had a library like this one to study in </3
so, it turns out that all I needed to do to get my schoolwork done at a reasonable pace was to start timing and tracking what I do again.
I genuinely did not think it motivated me so much but, I guess it does.
for the last, like, year (at least) of school I have been using Pomodoro videos on YT to track how much time I spend studying, and then using a Google Doc to write down what assignments/readings I complete each day and how much time I spent doing them.
for whatever reason I stopped doing that towards the end of last term, and just decided to pick it up again. and wouldn't ya know it, I have gotten so much done in the last 12 hours.
crazy. who would have thought that any semblance of routine and accountability could have such an effect?

I recently decided to change my major. originally I wanted to study history but this summer I decided to take a class on individual sustainability, and it has sparked a sort of fire within me.
so, I have switched to Environmental Economics and Policy. my university offers a Sustainability post-bac/double degree and I’m considering doing that as well.
on another note, I am so over the summer heat. I feel like I cannot properly focus on anything and setting any sort of routine feels impossible right now.
yearning for an incredibly long, gloomy, and rain-filled autumn this year.
nothing quite like regretting past life choices instead of being productive...
haven’t posted here in like six months. woops
currently getting things set up so I can start at university come winter term
been attending my local community college for the last couple of years but I’ll be finished by winter
recently decided to change my major from History to Environmental Science, with a specialization in conservation, resources, and sustainability
looking at all the math and chemistry requirements has me feeling like I should make peace with losing my 4.0 GPA soon
I hope everyone here is having a fantastic summer term, or summer break
going to try to start this blog up again to help keep myself motivated. drop your study playlist if you see this :)
honest opinions time: how do y’all feel about the book ‘Looking for Alaska’ by John Green? feel free to leave a comment if you have more to say
Looking for Alaska?
one of my fav books
it was good, but not my fav
ehhh, kinda mid
didn’t enjoy it/kinda lame
hated it, no stars
one dream, one life, one lover
I do really think that the use of ChatGPT and genAI by students highlights the fundamental flaw of our education system focusing almost entirely on grades and test scores rather than generating curiosity and inquiry, which produces individuals who fundamentally do not understand that the purpose of an assignment is meant to be to learn *how* to do something, not simply to produce a product you can turn in to get an A+

I am sooooo not locked in. I am tucked in. Going to sleep
“It's all too much and not enough at the same time.”
my sleep schedule is completely fucked and I haven’t seen daylight in like three days
ended up dropping one of the classes I initially registered for this term and got a late add into this intro to ethnic studies class
the first assignment is due today so I have a ton of reading to catch up on. me & my coffee against the world
