Ok, my fellow look outside enthusiasts, I MAY be working on something new, this is what I got down so far, original vs current (basically just making a base for what I plan to try and make)
So far just a bit of sprite editing and mashing things together, the mashing things together being the party thing and the sprite editing being removing the witness from the scene. Half chance whatever I finish looks more like the spawn of Satan and a bad artist rather then anything I want but we’ll see!
More look outside stuff (not my au stuff just my astronomer oc Nova), you know how in a previous post I said that I wasn’t even going to try drawing her cursed form in the look outside style? Well scratch that (if I don’t lose motivation) (nova’s cursed form design for reference).
It’s still a W.I.P but it’s looking good so far, I’m doing that blocking out method thing, using the app aseprite because I somehow figured it out enough to make this… after many google searches…. And considering this is my first time daring to do a pixel animation let alone one with a COMPUTER program (I’m a phone drawer), I think it’s pretty decent. If I do lose motivation I’ll atleast try to finish the beginning frame
Hey gang, another video on my look outside au, also going with Fredric’s apartment (he’s not even the man focus of the au but who cares I can do side quests), and technically a part two of the last post (https://www.tumblr.com/astrallamenter/819714945930395648/hiii-more-on-my-look-outside-au-this-time-its)
Also paired with a video, technically spoilers if you haven’t gotten to Fredric’s apartment yet and I’ll use this post to talk about my head cannons/what’s happening with each fellow in my au
So now onto the Fred’s, this next part is basically me talking about what I think each Fred represents, and if it’s not cannon then it’s cannon in my au, in the order of face taker, wriggly Fred, scared Fred, tumor Fred, bright Fred, toxic Fred, god head Fred, Fred who bites, shadow Fred, and finally Fredric himself.
To make things clear I am a fan of the theory that each Fredric, including the faceless one that’s the ‘real one’ are just parts of what Fredric used to be, and is what each head-cannon/whats happening in my au is based off of, with each Fred representing an emotion or idea.
The Face Taker—I believe the face taker represents intrusive thoughts, or impulsiveness. There is an argument that he can represent malice but a good chunk of the Fred’s wanted each-other dead, and he didn’t outright attack Sam after he finished off the other paintings, even when he more then definitely had the opportunity, which is what causes me to believe and head cannon he just represents intrusive thoughts and impulsiveness, and wells nothing else quite fits in my opinion, and in my au that’s a large fuel for chaos but since they all can read each other’s thoughts they can keep him under control, it helps he’s in his smaller form most of the time.
Wriggly Fred—I think he represents confusion and naivety, mainly from his mannerisms and the way he speaks. More simple for him. In my au though, he doesn’t help at all with keeping things calm, aside from the face taker and especially toxic fred (shadow feed not included since he’s been kept in the dark room where the painting of the visitor was most of the time to keep him calm enough), he causes most of the chaos.
Scared Fred—he represents paranoia and fear, plain and simple. In my au hearing the thoughts of the others still makes it to where he doesn’t go out a lot still so he stays in the closet (that had been relocated to the main room), but as the others start calming down and wanting the others’ heads on sticks less, he’s gotten a bit of courage to actually leave the closet and socialize.
Tumor Fred—Either pain or sickness, could be either one, he’s also pretty simple for the headcannon. He was euthanized in my au. Mercy kill, that’s the one thing all the Freds could agree upon.
Bright Fred—in my head he pretty much just represents kindness and compassion, again, real simple. In my au he’s mostly the one trying to keep things in order but as seen in the video he will still end up freaking out if all the rest are freaking out since he can still hear the others’ thoughts.
Toxic Fred—I think he represents toxicity… kinda obvious there. In my au he is VERY easily rage baited, all Sam did was basically call him a coward for not attending the Fred’s’ therapy session.
God head fred-(I’m to lazy to do colors for him) I believe, as many others likely do to, that he represents Ego, but dare I say he also represents humility? I mean he was pretty clean when Sam calls him out, and doesn’t put up much of a fight. Anyways, in my au he one of the more laid back Freds in the group, mostly just smoking and listening to what the others have to say.
Fred who bites—I believe he represents self isolation and keeping others at a distance, mainly because getting close to him leads Sam to be bitten-even on accident-and is found in a more isolated location that Sam can easily pass by without interacting with him, and the fact he tells Sam to stay back and that he doesn’t want to bite him. Anyways in my au he’s mostly a bit off to the side from the others but is still present in conversation, he’s been doing better with controlling his bites, but when chaos starts he sometimes loses control.
Shadow Fred—I personally believe shadow Fred represents insecurity, manly because he screams at you to not look at him and is immediately aggressive and is found in the darkest room of the apartment. In my au basically everything’s the same with him except the others are trying to see if he’ll eventually calm down and the fact he gets to the main room every now and then and starts up chaos.
Fredric/faceless Fred—I believe he represents humanity, in a sense. And not humanity as in morals or things that that, I mean humanity as in being human. That’s not an emotion, sure, but he is closest to being human. I personally don’t think he is now the only one that’s the original (as I said before I believe all the Fred’s were the original, just split off parts of the mind), but he is the most human in my opinion. In my au he’s the one who actually leaves the apartment for trading whenever supplies run low (if they don’t get someone else to do it first), and like bright Fred he tries to keep the peace.
Ain’t no peace can be kept though when the version of you that’s insanely impulsive and listens to his intrusive thoughts shoves another version of yall into the oven because no one stopped him in time (mainly due to the aggressive version of you breaking out from the dark room)

Potential spoilers under the cut+a small meme I made for this part of the au
The meme (context is “instead of killing the freds Sam forces them to have group therapy and talk”)
Basically, you know how normally in look outside you have to atleast kill the face taker or a couple of the other Fred’s for the canvas bag to store the painting for the painting offering? Why kill when you can force them to have therapy! The idea for this part of the au (go to my other posts for more about it (https://www.tumblr.com/communities/look-outside-game/post/816914049461780480/hiiii-second-post-ever-mainly-posting-this-out is the first part of the au with the very beginning of what would happen for Sam in the apartment)) came from the fact that every time I tried to slaughter the Fred’s for an item from one I just couldn’t do it due to not wanting to kill the nice ones (aside from tumor Fred, gotta put him out of his misery). Basically the premise for Fredric’s apartment is Sam just snatches the Fredric’s face that face taker stole, breaks down the door to where the real Fredric is, practically hold him at gun point to get him to make a duplicate of the face, give him the original face, run out of there, and slap the duplicate face onto the face taker. All in the span of 5 minutes leaving most everyone confused on what just happened, and then after ‘convincing’ (threatening) face taker Fred, Sam and his party (Leigh, Joel, with the rat child at his apartment) gathered up the other Freds to bring them to the living room for GROUP THERAPY!!! Wriggly Fred, bright Fred, and the original Fredric were the easiest to bring and convince (wriggly Fred already being nearby, bright Fred not being a fighter to begin with, and Fredric in game being like “…fine” if you don’t want to kill the others), god head Fred eventually agreed to try out group therapy with the rest, scared Fred was semi easy (Leigh went into beast for and just dragged the damn closet to the living room since scared Fred wouldn’t leave it), and the Fred who bites was semi hard to bring to the living room but eventually he war brought. For toxic Fred, Sam basically rage baited him into going to the living room and trying out therapy, and for dark Fred, he was put into a cage for everyone’s safety to try and get him to calm the hell down. Tumor Fred however? Put out of his misery, therapy wouldn’t fix anything with him 💀🙏.
Attempted to draw my astronomer oc, Nova, in the look outside style, gave up on the legs and just stole Eugene’s legs and recolored them + I’ll also add the first drawing I made of her
I am NOT even going to try to draw her cursed form in the look outside style, just look at it and then look at my art skills in copying the style (which I had constant references for). Ima still add a drawing of her cursed form though (the original drawing and another one (that’s more lazy) of her cursed form loafing because I was bored and that’s how she attempts to look non threatening considering she’s much bigger now)
Hi gang (already posted this on the look outside community but I’m posting it on my blog to), I present to you my look outside astronomer oc, feel free to ask questions
In order, nova’s non cursed form + description, nova’s cursed form + description, size comparison, nova’s non cursed form, and nova’s cursed form.
Fun fact, she (in her cursed form) has a freaking gravitational pull like a true star, she lets her phone and whatever she wants to take with her be in orbit around herself. Also when she attempts to get close to non-cursed individuals (again in her cursed form) she will lower herself to the ground more and pull her arms closer to herself to make her appear smaller and non-threatening. In her normal form she’s somewhat mischievous, and has enjoyment copying other people’s greetings or mannerisms.
All the budget went into the cursed form. I’ll go int more detail about her here. If the elevator is fixed before day 4, she can be found on floor two on the left side of the collapsed section, where she’ll greet Sam and say what she’s looking for and all for her offering, and she’d also give Sam excess bandages she has on her. But if the elevator is not fixed before day 4, she will end up in her cursed form after accidentally catching a glimpse of the visitor through a window, after wards she will not be found in the same spot, instead the janitor closet on floor two will appear to have been ripped off and reattached. If Sam asks aster about it he will just state that it was like that when he woke up, asking about nova and aster will state he hasn’t seen her but that she did text recently that she is still ok and he had no reason to believe otherwise. If Sam attacks aster here and wins nova will burst out of the closet, starting a difficult fight where escape isn’t an option and where she wants Sam dead. On the contrary adding aster as a companion here will cause mysterious gifts to be able to appear at Sam’s door, with the floor 2 janitor closest having it’s door off it’s hinges (allowing early access into it without the janitor’s keys), more bandages would be in there however, along with signs of something large knocking things over. If you ask questions I can give answers about her :3
Look outside half hearted sprite editing thing based off an au I have, more info about this specific thing under the cut, more on the au in a previous post i made on the look outside community.
First time editing sprites or really doing anything that’s not just writing for an au. More info on the au in the look outside community on a post I made a week or so ago.
Edits on the sprite: basically I just removed the blood from him, made his smile less manic, made his eyes dull in color (from going blind, more on that below), and cleaned the knife and added water to it. It doesn’t look the best but hey this is the first time and I MIGHT AS WELL post more about my au.
(Basically beginning part of the au is ‘wounded neighbor but instead of being the first boss he’s the first companion you can recruit’. Short summary for this specific part (in the short video) is serge (the wounded neighbor, found the name on the wiki) is instead more gradually affected by the visitor, having difficulties with vision that grows worse until he becomes almost completely blind (he still has the kitchen knife his cannon self has), and one night ends up asking Sam/the player for a couple of bandages or cloth and refuse to say why. in the morning Sam will find him in the kitchen area, now spotting a big eye on his chest and a knife that looks like it’s been scrubbed clean over and over (with three even still being water on it))
