i enjoyed the finale so much that i completely forgot that some people would have really, really bad takes about it.
It does occur to me that as an animated show that has been available to watch for free online, a not-insiginificant number of these takes are truly just “baby’s first foray into critical thought.”
And while I’m honestly glad that a space exists for people to explore this, I am begging for your next social skill exploration to be “how to discuss your observations and opinions without being a complete dick who will not budge bc they think they’re morally superior to everybody.”
also there is a thing i’ve been doing that i KNOW people are going to start calling me tf out for and ugggggghhhhhhuh
i’m gonna leave this here and go to bed.

this is the one thing i will post for now bc it’s an incredibly minor spoiler, if at all, but
TADC THE LAST ACT SPOILER, I AM WARNING YOU NOW
(I’m hiding my likes bc there’s tadc spoilers in there, and i’d hate for y’all to accidentally get spoiled just by visiting, but i will un-hide them after it releases on yt!)
ok so are we using a tag for spoilers or
BECAUSE
oh so you mean the thing that thousands of people said would happen did happen, and now you’re mad? shocking, really.
oh but the “you’re entitled / stupid / chronically online if you’re upset about this” crowd can still suck my dick and choke :)
I’ve cooled off a bit at this point, but I still think the theatrical release of TADC’s finale is a poor choice.
I want indie productions to thrive and be successful. I want that so much, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I just don’t know that this is the right way to do that.
Glitch’s statement that they were pushing for a closer release “for the sake of the fans” or whatever sits a little strangely with me. It solidifies that they did know we’d have a spoiler problem, but were not willing to give up the theater run over it.
The hype on indie projects is largely upheld by their fans. Knowingly throwing many of the fans that made the project so popular and loved in the first place to the wolves (i.e. fans with worse internet manners) is obviously going to make them feel like they’ve been slighted by the very thing they love, and cause them to be wary of other indie works in the future.
TADC’s merch runs have been well-supported. I see merch multiple times a week in physical stores. I’ve even seen a ton of people dream up other merch ideas and get thousands of “yeah, i’d buy that so fast” comments.
I’m just really baffled that they decided on the option that is going to spoil the show for so many people who were supporting it this whole time.
I cannot believe they’re actually doing the early theatrical release bs.
How do you release a show on the internet without knowing what the internet is like?
It’s going to get spoiled, point blank. What a disappointing way to end this.
They know it. They are trying to scare people into seeing it in theatres to avoid spoilers.
Well I hope they enjoy their theater money. I’m not watching anything else from this cash grabby ass studio in the future.

ok, so. thoughts:
1. still, WHAT.
2. i did feel bad for Caine in his breakdown, but at the same time, he’s insistent that he’s doing his best to do things the humans will enjoy, but then actively refuses to listen to them when they try to tell him what they do want, so… is he really doing everything he thinks he is? is he even actually capable of doing that? is this why he was only deemed “semi-successful”?
3. what tf IS Bubble even?
4. “We have to abandon the idea of getting out” at the beginning, to The Circus actively disintegrating at the end is such a wild set of bookends. This show is written so incredibly well.
5. Jax’s “Oh my god, this is real.” meltdown means that at some point, he genuinely deluded himself into thinking of this whole thing as a game, probably to cope with the previous abstractions. poor bunny.
6. does Kinger getting censored when he cursed about accidentally deleting Caine mean that Caine hasn’t actually been deleted, or that there is some other yet-unseen entity in charge of that (and presumably, other functions of The Circus?
7. hey wtf do you mean this is somehow wrapped up in the next episode AND THEN IT’S JUST OVER?
HUH??
WHAT???
…did ragatha get a MAJOR model upgrade this episode??
