Why are jumpsuit better jail uniforms then scrubs?

For the corrections staff it is one piece vs two. One size vs two. One color vs two. It's easier to track and distribute.
It's also just slightly more difficult for the inmate to hide contraband. You have to shove it in the fly opening and usually the object just drops out your leg.
They generally have one pocket vs up to 5 on a set of scrubs. Four less pockets for contraband!
It makes it a tiny bit more difficult for your cellmate or someone else to rape you in the butt. It might delay it by 15 or 20 seconds and give staff that much more time to thwart it.
Finally, well they are kinda ugly and institutional. Scrubs can at times look pretty nice. And they are used by medical professionals. So, how convict-esque is that?????
On the negative side they have fasteners. Snaps, zippers, buttons and velcro can all fail and require repair.
Also the fit can be problematic. Rare few cons fit perfectly into one of these things!
Do these guys look good or even great in scrubs? Yes they do! But, I spent 35 years in a medical career. My doctor, dentist, vet and optometrist all wear these fucking scrubs. That drives me nuts!
If I am going to spend a long time behind bars, I hope I get to wear one of these!!!! Hell yes!
And to be honest, I am wearing a jumpsuit as I answer this question!
