haven is crazyyy there is a guy whose wholesale trouble is manifesting UFOs and then he gets abducted and when the troubles end we NEVER FIND OUT WHERE HE WENT
I think about this all the time. He absolutely had to have died. Same with the taxidermy family
Lest we forget about Ray whose on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Or the family who breathe water who got no warning đ. Considering Nathan is still there and alive there's a chance of the troubles were still in effect when they left they are in effect permanently now đ€.
Sorry, Iâm confusedâhave you finished the show?
Every time I express that I think it's shitty to say that genAI "hallucinates," people get weirdly pissy and combative with me.
But until real human beings who experience hallucinations are treated like human beings worthy of respect and dignity...I think perhaps it's shitty to keep associating hallucinations with being non-human, dangerous, and a liar.
It actually really fucking sucks that hallucinating is seen as monster-movie-scary, dangerous, inhuman, and worthy of scorn and/or mockery. It actually really fucking sucks that people who hallucinate or experience delusions can't get compassionate help or understanding, because everyone thinks it's an automatic sign of being dangerous, violent, and a liar. It's a massive problem that people look at hallucinations as "dangerous crazy person shit" that should be gotten rid of or locked away.
I find it crass, at best, to flippantly use the term "AI hallucinations" when real-life people get abused, imprisoned, and killed because they experience hallucinations.
But what do I know, I'm just a crazy person. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
People in the notes keep proposing alternatives or asking me what they should say instead, and I really think y'all are overthinking it. You don't need to coin an entire new term. You can just say "AI generates misinformation." If you need it as a noun, "AI misinformation."
If you want to be provocative, "AI spits out garbled bullshit" works, too.
something that is really starting to bug me is the fanon that the other kids/Berk as a whole didn't respect or admire Hiccup until after he and Toothless killed the Red Death
this is. so fucking wrong, my friends. We see that this is objectively not true in the actual plot of the actual movie. The other kids and adults become obsessed with him during dragon training. They don't realize what's happening, but they are correctly recognizing his innovation and astonishing results. And while the adults side with Stoick when the dragon secret gets out, the kids don't. It's not about the Red Death to them; Hiccup has already won their loyalty. They volunteer because they respect and admire him and the whole finale just shows that he deserves it. (And the adults switch back to respect and admiration when they do fully understand the situation again later)
He earned it with his performance in dragon training, but he doesn't think he did because there was so much deception involved. But that doesn't undo that he was actually generating so much knowledge that becomes incredibly useful to his people. AND THEN he saves them all from dying! It's not "oh they respect him now because he almost died for them." It's so much more than that
(this is one of the reasons I absolutely can't fucking stand RoB/DoB. Instead of these kids looking to Hiccup as the leader of their group, enjoying his company, and admiring him, they...are all replaced by cartoon stereotypes that are infinitely less nuanced and interesting than their httyd1/boneknapper/gotnf selves and are so fucking mean to each other and Hiccup)
I feel like as a fandom we do not appreciate enough that Stoick is so moved by Toothless's loyalty that he feels completely fine about inviting a dragon into his house and leaving his unconscious, new amputee son alone with him
writing a canon divergent fix-it fic while also shaking my head to show that i actually really like the canon's tragic narrative and am not trying to say i think it would be better if canon was like this
If a flaming old queen in a cape wants to kill off racists in power I say have at it
That wasnât even his plan!! His plan was to make the senator a mutant, so heâd have to advocate for mutants or be destroyed by his own policy, and tbh. Itâs the best villain plan Iâve ever seen. The goo was the plan unexpectedly failing. 9/10 only bc he was going to kill Rogue. Next time use someone willing to sacrifice herself for the cause, pls. No further notes
I like how his plan in like real world terms, was to turn desantis gay but instead he exploded
like to charge reblog to cast tbh
Wild to see this post just randomly cross my dash. This is by far the biggest contribution Iâve made to tumblr culture?? Hi friends

Friend can you please explain what the >>> punctuation means in this context? Google is not helpful
Oh sorry, itâs the greater than symbol! So when you put a word or phrase in front of it, it means the thing is better than anything else đ
Stash!!!!!
I found these in my stash (looking for something else ofc) and immediately wanted to do a Luminous Nine Patch.
Now, now listen.
I know I seem to be making a few of these.
But they turn out gorgeous! How could I not make them?? Theyâre so easy and fun to do.
She is on fire!
Look at this thing! I love her! Sheâs gorgeous!
Sheâs bold and dramatic and demands attention!
I think this one is one of the best Luminous Nine Patch quilts Iâve done.
Iâll use orange thread to quilt it and put black cuddle on the back, along with black binding. I think thatâll finish her off nicely đđ
I was correct. The black cuddle and binding are just fab with this.
I did actually find a more golden yellow thread called Dessert Sunset that I used instead of orange to quilt with, and I love it.
Man. It looks so good in the sunlight.
happy disability pride month for every fellow hiccup and toothless out there đ»đ€
I will not be watching new ATLA installments bc frankly I have not trusted Bryke since the year 2012 and this will bring me nothing but psychic damage âš
For no particular reason, will be sharing two old and beloved fics...

Kill the franchise already
The biggest problem with Korra is the switch from episodic to a linear structure.
if I could go back in time and kill the franchise in 2008 I would. even if it means never getting the awesome yangchen novels and korrasamiâŠ.. it would be worth it overall⊠pull the trigger pigletâŠ
and yes, lok is far more serialized on an episode to episode basis than atla is (although both narratives are linear, and I would argue that atla is ultimately more of a linear narrative than lok is, considering it follows a far more coherent, teleological narrative arc across three seasons. but I know what u meant lol). that said, I donât think thatâs inherently a problem, since there are plenty of ways to write a serialized tv show well. while the structure of lok is poorly done, I donât think a show being 4 seasons of 13 episodes each, with a directly propulsive plot, is necessarily a flaw. atla is structured uniquely well as a quest narrative spanning three seasons, with each season encompassing its own coherent arc, while telling a focused overarching narrative with a well established and followed through telos from beginning to end. lok is structured very poorly by contrast, as each season is self-contained to the point that any attempt to gesture to a thematic & narrative throughline feels like a lazy afterthought rather than a conscious writing decision. itâs clear while watching lok that the writers had no real plan from one season to the next, and good storytelling (almost) always requires knowledge of the ending from the very beginning to make the narrative cohere thematically, especially in the kind of traditional quest narrative the avatar shows adhere to. while I wouldnât even claim that the pacing and structure is lokâs biggest problem, it is certainly a glaring problem (one of many) in its writing that you could easily point to, especially in comparison to atla. I agree that if lok was more episodic in its structure, then its structural faults would feel far less glaring, but I do also think it would have been possible to write a more serialized tv show that works within its narrative context. ultimately, the problem with lok is that the writing is just straight up bad, and its structure and pacing is but one of many facets in which its writing is deeply, terribly flawed.
my atla fandom hot take that is unobjectionable but for some reason consequential due to its prevalence is that toph wouldnât consistently refer to sokka as âsnoozlesâ the way she refers to aang as âtwinkle toes.â the epithet of âsnoozles,â which she uses exactly once, in âbitter work,â is entirely dependent on its context, which is that she woke up early because she was excited to train aang. if anything, toph is far more of a âsnoozlesâ than sokka is. when he tells them in âthe painted ladyâ that theyâll have to wake up 43 minutes earlier from from on to make up for the day they spent in jang hui, toph emphatically declares âwell iâm not waking up early.â and mind you, these are tophâs sleeping habits on a regular day, whereas sokka is usually regimented and disciplined to the point that toph mocks him for it (see also, âfinagle away, o schedule masterâ earlier in that scene):
she also refers him as âsleuthy one,â in âsozinâs comet,â but thatâs just as context-dependent as snoozles. it would be weird of her to call him that consistently, the same way it would be weird of her to call him by a nickname that implies heâs in any way lazy, when in fact, she is far more likely to mock him for being an overly-organized hard-ass.
aang is the only character who is actually bestowed a consistent nickname. while the epithets with which toph refers to katara follow a generally consistent patternâfirst âsugar queenâ in âthe chase,â then âsweetnessâ in âthe earth king,â and (my personal favorite) âmadame fussy britchesâ in âthe runawayââshe never uses the same nickname twice. she refers to suki as âhoneyâ in âsozinâs comet,â but i wouldnât even call that a nickname per se. and zukoâs only nickname by a member of the gaang, âsifu hotman,â is coined by aang, not toph. with the sole exception of aang, toph primarily refers to her friends by their names, and only uses nicknames in specific contexts, when the occasion actually calls for her to employ a mocking epithet.
however, if toph were to refer to sokka by a consistent nickname, the obvious contender is clearly âcaptain boomerang.â although itâs a somewhat silly name, itâs evident through her tone when she calls him that in âsozinâs cometâ that it is sincere. when she is hanging on to his hand and says âaye aye, captain,â she is not being remotely sarcastic; she is expressing dire fear for their lives, but she trusts him completely. even the shit ass comics are able to recognize that this is tophâs ultimate nickname for sokka, because it represents how she truly views him. beneath her irreverent recalcitrance, toph clearly holds a lot of respect, fondness, and admiration for sokka as a friend and as a leader. she does not think of him as âsnoozlesâ; she thinks of him as her captain.
thank you for this work of important scholarship addressing one of the smaller yet most annoying fanon things in this cursed place
