âYou did not just roll your eyes at me,â she scoffed playfully, not nearly as offended as she looked or sounded. âItâs called boundaries. Iâm respecting yours by not going after what I want. Iâll quit using excuses when you say you are ready to take our relationship to the next level.â She glanced down at the floor, trying to hide her grin because she was trying to be convincing. âYou mean I was in denial, but I think Iâm ready to confess how I feel. I canât keep it to myself anymore. Itâs killing me to not share with you how much I love you. Iâve been in love with you since I met you. I just didnât know it until yesterday.â She purposely didnât say âtodayâ so that she could sound like even more of a smart ass. Lifting her head, she tried not to laugh at how badly Astrid was failing at playing along. âNothing is annoying where Iâm concerned and you know it,â she teased, inwardly agreeing that jealousy could be incredibly obnoxious. After Astridâs co-worker helped her put up the mistletoe, she slipped her arm around the otherâs waist, noticing the way he looked at her as if to say âitâs tradition.â She couldnât bite back a laugh at the look on his face before he turned to walk away. âIâm so bloody convincing, I amaze myself,â she whispered jokingly, smirk gracing her lips as she glanced at Astrid.
âOh, I just did.â She retaliated, a small smirk on her face as she did so while trying to keep herself from laughing. âSince when have you ever been someone to respect another personâs boundaries? For as long as I have known you, you always got what you wanted.â She added, the urge to laugh was so tempting now at how ridiculous they both were acting. Astrid then began to act all bashful like, placing a hand against her chest as if she was flattered by her friends words and pretending as if she was blushing, though she wouldnât doubt that there was at least a hint of blush on her face. âSince yesterday?! Oh my, have flattered I am right now. But oh my! You should know that as much as I love you in return, us being together may never happen.â this time, she tried to look crestfallen at her own words, the urge to smile and laugh still there. âThatâs still to be debated.â The moment her co-worker helped Astrid in putting the mistletoe up, the brunette didnât fail to see the look he was giving her which did actually cause her to blush a little. To some, it may seem like she was putting up a mistletoe to kiss others but really, she wanted it up as decoration than anything. So when India placed a hand around her waist, the therapist didnât complain and watched as her co-worker walked away. She then turned to her friend. âYou truly are, India. I think you scared him from ever talking to me again.â
