After seeing my lolita collection @astrogurlnikkipinkai asked if she could come and try an outfit.
Of course I was more than happy to assist her in finding her inner lolita.
The question was what type of lolita would Nikki be?
Sweet Lolita? This category focuses on the innocent, whimsical, and fantasy-driven aspects of the fashion.Aesthetic: Pastel color palettes (pink, sax blue, mint, lavender, cream) and highly detailed, cute themes.Motifs: Fruits (strawberries, cherries), sweets (cakes, candy, chocolate), fairy tales, carousel horses, toys, and kittens.Key Features: Heavy use of ruffles, lace, large headbows, and busy, vibrant all-over fabric prints.
Classic Lolita ? This style features a mature, elegant, and historically grounded approach inspired directly by vintage fashion.Aesthetic: Muted, sophisticated color palettes (dusty rose, mauve, burgundy, brown, navy, forest green) and structural simplicity.Motifs: Small floral prints, antique patterns, literary references, and historical art.Key Features: Longer hemlines, subverted A-line silhouettes, minimal ruffles, higher-quality lace, and more natural, toned-down hair and makeup.
Gothic Lolita? This branch merges the traditional structural silhouette of Lolita with dark, alternative themes.Aesthetic: Dark and moody color schemes (primarily black, deep purple, crimson, midnight blue, and stark monochrome black-and-white).Motifs: Crosses, bats, bats, coffins, chandeliers, old cathedrals, skulls, and religious iconography.Key Features: Cross accessories, platform shoes, darker makeup, and sleek geometric lines rather than soft frills.
Or one of the sub branches of the fashion, like :

Classic Qi / Wa Lolita: Incorporates traditional silhouettes and patterns from Chinese (Qi) or Japanese (Wa) historical garments into the dress structure.
In the end Princess lolita won out.
And in no time at all Princess Nikki was born
With long flowing hair as pink as Nikki's own
Then a matching bonnet tied snugly at the chin
A choice of bag and of course parasol for the sunshine.
Then off to ensure the perfect shoes to accompany the outfit.
Now the outfit was complete and Nikki was a perfect princess lolita it was time to go and enjoy the sunshine.
The roses were lovely but not as lovely as Nikki
Time for some refreshments.
And unfortunately all too soon Nikki had to go and our little adventure was over but maybe next time I can get her into something a bit more exotic.
