This is an important astrologist’s tool, not an attraction to be ogled.” Mona could absolutely see why the unaware might be intrigued by her Hydro scryglass, but wasn’t this fellow staring at it a little too intensely? She had hoped she could divinate the location of the treasure in the Pixie Perfect Treasure Hunt, but alas she couldn’t see anything with her powers weakened.

She’d have to rely on the teacup pig after all.

With a wave of her hand, she dismissed the bright blue surface she had been gazing into in her grasp, and then turned to the young man with hands now on her hips. “Do you have any idea how a pig is going to take us to the treasure?” Since she’d bumped into him randomly, why not try and get his aid?

✧ “I certainly hope you aren’t about to liken me to some sort of witch?” Mona had noticed this stranger’s gaze from across the summer barbeque party, but over time she had drawn closer. She was a difficult individual to miss with that big hat of hers, but that was a trait that the two of them seemingly shared. It was also the reason that the astrologist assumed the presumed witch was approaching her. But astrology was not witchcraft, and she would not have it likened as such.

“Or were you simply trying to get into the line for hamburgers?” That was, indeed, where Mona was standing. Why was she being dramatic? She was just in a bad mood, really. Food, food, and lots more food could fix that.

✧ “Our reunion was ordained by fate” is what Mona would have liked to have said in the case of this meeting. It hadn’t felt like all that long ago since she had explored those islands and mirages with him and the others, after all. But tragically her ability to scry anything of significance had been muffled. At best she could determine something trifling.

Instead, the astologist was left to give a more standard greeting. “Oh, Kazuha. It’s good to see you. I’m surprised to find a familiar face. Were you watching the fireworks?”

She had been drawn in by the show on the boardwalks herself. But now it was late and the lights that lit up the sky had cleared. “If you were to tell me after our little adventure that I would end up washed up on an island like this one, I certainly would have called you cuckoo.” Mona gave a defeated shrug.
