“Space monsters and aliens are no problem, but bring on the little old grandma’s and suddenly you gotta fight for your life, right?” There was  just a relief in seeing him. Knowing he was there in front of her in one piece. To see him smile. The urge to just run into his arms and kiss him  was overwhelming and horribly cliche-

-which was why she settled for closing the distance and hugging him first.

                       Kissing would be in a few more minutes.

    “ You should have seen this old lady, I thought I was gonna have  to put on the helmet to win ” he said with a laugh, his arms already  opening wide to bring her into a big hug. Wrapping his arms around her he held her close and tight, allowing himself to melt into her arms. He’d miss her warmth, her smile, her laugh, her touch. Space was lonely, and he was glad that was one of the reasons he’d always come back to Earth.

   He couldn’t wait to meet her lips any longer, and be broke away to  plant a tenderly sweet kiss on her lips. “ I really missed you. ”

“… I don’t really get it, but you seem like you’re having fun, Mister.” He didn’t want to make any fast assumptions. Maybe he was getting in character for a gig at a kid’s birthday.

   “ Wait-- You’ve seriously never heard of me? ” Well, he was always in space, still Nova couldn’t quite hide the disappointment.   “ Well, it looks like you’re in luck because now you’re about to learn! ”

                Ah, yes, there was the spirit.

“It makes you the most amazing person in the whole wide world.” Admittedly she was a hamming it up and laying it on thick but she missed him. A lot. Stupid amounts of it which was why she couldn’t stop beaming at seeing him and then the strawberries he had.

“I didn’t know space had grocery stores. Or strawberries.”

   He could feel the grin on his face, probably large and stupid but he didn’t seem to care. He could tell just how happy she was to see him,  he could see it in her eyes and it took everything in him to hold back  his urge to pull her into a kiss. 

   “ They don’t, I had to fight for these ” he began, “ Seriously, I didn’t  know old ladies could be so strong. ”

   His helmet came on the moment his blue eyes locked onto  her eyes. Having been far across the universe for what felt  like years, he was glad to finally see and hear her voice again. 

    “ Favorite, huh? ” he grinned, holding up a pack of strawberries.  “ What does that make me if I brought these? ”
