The beauty of Facebook is that it exposes everyone hiding behind a mask. If you were to post how you hate your boss at your workplace on Facebook, they can search you up without you realizing it and they can see your true colours. All your pictures, videos, statuses, that you post defines your characteristics in how it reflects your friends, your peers, and your co-workers.
Also you've never know who is talking shit behind your back on Facebook, because with the online chat feature, it's easy for us to access whomever we get to communicate with, whereas the other person wouldn't know that you're talking about them
I don't like Facebook, but it's nice to use it to gather information about social events such as parties and concerts, and finding our old buddies that we haven't seen in long time. Facebook is used to boost your ego about what clothes you wear, your fancy car, your job, all of your success being exploited to the public, and when we see what others have on our newsfeed, we become so envious and jealous that we start comparing ourselves to them! It's isolating us rather than actually connecting us.
No offense to anyone, but the majority on here are all FAKES, you show off all your shit on here, you mimic others personalities, and for the girls, don't get me started, you photoshop your photos to make yourselves look attractive when really you are not, therefore, deceiving us men ( I know I am a hypocrite for saying this, but with this account I'm am being real with how I see myself from now on ) you post all your pointless duck faces, you post your slutty bikini outfits exposing all of your anatomy while you complain about how guys are commenting on it. Well of course we are going to comment on it, because that's just how males are. We are sexually visual creatures.
It frowns the meaning of the word friendship as well. Tell me do you really talk to those 1,000+ friends? Do you even hang out with each and every single one of them? Those so called friends of yours are just High School, College/University acquaintances. In reality, you probably hang out and know at least maybe 20, because I remember back in my day, we used to be all proactive such as going out to the park, play sports, go camping, etc. These are the activities that connects us in finding out who our true friends are, but now with Facebook, we hardly even talk to any.
What about relationships and dating? Aren't girls more attracted to mysterious guys? Because with Facebook, what you're doing is that you're revealing too much about yourself, which can ruin the whole attraction. You see we are like curious creatures, suspense adds more depth to the excitement. You want to keep the girl interested in you so that she would keep on chasing you.
In addition with relationships, when you set your relationship status with whomever you are dating , the whole public can see it, meaning you get creepy guys intervening as they flirt with your girl, parents getting involved, and other people sticking their nose where it doesn't belong, which can ruin the whole potential of the relationship. That's why from now on, if I am in a relationship, I am setting it to " In a Relationship " without displaying my girlfriends' name just to let everyone know that I am already taken. I believe that relationships should be kept private between you and your spouse, therefore, two people can remain in control without the interference of others.
Facebook can even ruin your reputation and destroys friendships. Reason is that what ever you decide to post on here that can be so controversial, offensive, your family, friends, co-workers, even your boss can see that shit. We all have freedom of speech, but no matter how you use it, some people gets offended and that's just how it is. Sure you have good friends to back you up with your point, but regardless of that, other people can see it too then they will start gossiping with other people and before you know it, all this drama will commence.
Isn't it IRONIC that I'm posting these things when I'm using Facebook myself?
But ultimately as a Graphic Design artist, it's important to have a Facebook in order to promote my work, because In this day and age we need the internet to get our name out there in order to receive contacts from our clients not just for my professional field, but other particular career as well. What other possible ways to get clients since Facebook is the most usable website around the globe right now? You don't have to like it, but it's most convient.
