While I doubt many people look at my tumblr from my AO3, I feel the need to be a bit more open. I have been having some issues the past year or so that I don’t care to talk about here in order to preserve my anonymity. I have been very, very depressed the past 6 months and have lost a lot of enthusiasm for some of my works. I still intend to complete them, but I want to put effort into them and not just post the chapters to post them. (And also the AO3 curse absolutely kicks my ass whenever I update a chapter…)
Recent events haven’t helped my mental state, but I am trying my best to piece things back together. It really helps having friends who will be there while you pick up the pieces, even if only to be a silent support. (You know who you are.) I’m very grateful to everyone who loves my fanfics, and I will update them when I have more done.
So in "Mark for Assembly" there are some cipher and codes to decrypt and all, I manage to decode like half of em but the other half? I've gone to dcode but I still can't solve it (maybe I'm doing it wrong?)
Can I pretty please have some clue or guidance on how to decode these:
I don’t want to spoil anything, but they’re various different ciphers. Some have keys. Some may be easier to guess than others. I actually forgot people are reading Marked For Assembly. Those ciphers specifically contain notes the other authors and I left in from while we were writing. If you care to read them, feel free to try.
Oh, I forgot to say something about this when the original announcement was made, so I’ll just leave this here. It’s going to be on Mikaela’s YouTube page since I don’t have a YouTube channel. feathersferow, for anyone who is interested. I think they’re also going to put it on TikTok but I’m not sure. I know the actual series is gonna be on their YouTube.
The update is gonna take a little while, but I promise it’s worth it! I have a lot of things I’m doing at the moment and so I haven’t been able to write much. I’m not even sure how many people are keeping up with “Show Me The World” at this point since the fandom has sort of died off again since the release of the MMBN Legacy Collection, but if you are, I will try to update it as soon as possible.
I know that I haven’t been posting much battle network content recently, but “Show Me The World” is going to be getting a special spooky update in November! It was planned for Halloween, but I haven’t been feeling well and it has inhibited my ability to write. Things get a little interesting though!
I did my best to make T in Murder Drones Reassembled… it’s not great, but maybe one day he’ll have his own custom model? Anyways—! T and Saikidō have profiles on OC Social Network! The responses will be limited, but feel free to interact with them!
A fun thing about being anemic is that you occasionally have to explain things to your friends like “sorry, I didn’t see anything you just did because I stood up”, “I’m just licking this metal chain because my brain craves the taste of copper and it’s really sweet by the way”, or the age old favorite of “I like the taste of blood but I swear I’m not a vampire”.
I use this knowledge to write my murder drones fanfictions because I just figured it would make sense for disassembly drones to like the taste of metal.
i recommend eating spring rolls to be able to understand what it would be like to eat worker fingers texture-wise, and if you ever get cravings for worker fingers, eat spring rolls! you can trick your brain with the textures and sate that desire
Some plans are being made and some things are currently in the works, so I guess I should talk about my co-authors’ and I’s Murder Drones spin-off AU more?
It’s called “Marked for DisAssembly: 建設区域” (kensetsu kuiki, which means “construction area”/“construction zone”)
It is a spin-off style fanwork that focuses on a completely different cast despite some of the main cast of Murder Drones being briefly mentioned/present.
The basic information about what makes this an AU is because I obviously don’t know what’s canon outside of the canon content glitch has provided, and we made a few changes. One of those changes happens to be sub-classes of disassembly drones (to a degree) that mostly follow the structure we see in the canon show.
Leader, pilot, scout, and medic.
In this AU, J is still a squad leader, and N is still a pilot, but V is classified as a scout. In this universe, disassembly drone squads typically only have three members.
A scout’s role in a squad is to protect the squad from any potential threats and functions more effectively as a hunter. Their primary directive is scouting the area for resources and analyzing the terrain.
Medic disassembly drones have their own squads, that are mostly made up of other medic disassembly drones, and are supposed to be a support system for other disassembly drones. (For example, we see how the anti-drone sentinels are capable of destroying disassembly drones. A medic disassembly drone’s primary purpose is to reactivate disabled disassembly drones and repair them, so that the company aka Cyn doesn’t have to waste time and resources sending more copies only to have them downed again.) They have medic squad leaders as well, but are capable of functioning independently. Of course, this isn’t perfect, and that gets brought up.
The spin-off story mainly focuses on T, W (“Dubbs”), and Saikido.
T is a stubborn, paranoid, medic disassembly drone who for some reason is no longer capable of using his own regeneration program.
W (“Dubbs”) is a quirky, affectionate scout disassembly drone, with a love of old-fashioned guns and card games, whose concept of morals relies heavily upon the fate of the cards.
Saikido is an optimistic, crafty worker drone who loves to collect both information and supplies for her crafts. She searches for the light in others, even when they don’t think there’s any left, and it’s practically a miracle she’s still alive.
There are a few other characters who are around in the beginning, but they don’t stick around very long. :/ Well… at least not obviously…
The story takes place during the timeline of the canon series, and has a more “slice-of-life” tone to it. It focuses less on action and more on psychological ramifications, and the complexities of relationships between worker drones and disassembly drones, but it’s still got the kick of psychological horror and some action to keep the feeling “Murder Drones” always had you on the edge of your seat with.
We haven’t published it all yet. Currently the three of us are discussing what to do about it as a previously unplanned opportunity has come up.

Since I’m talking about battle network again, it is honestly so relatable that Lan only really netbattles with his PET and navi and doesn’t send emails pretty much ever (we can obviously tell he sometimes does, but usually he’s just receiving them). The first phone I ever had was a Motorola W series and all I ever did on that thing was play Tetris. I didn’t even call my friends, I just used it to play Tetris until 3am and it was practically my best friend. I’m sure I still have it somewhere.

Thought about this some more today, and yeah, it would probably be due to curiosity, but it could also be due to hunger, I guess? If there was no oil around and whatever is in what they have for a stomach needed to digest something, it would theoretically be safe for them to consume because of their saliva.
It actually makes sense that disassembly drones have the neutralizer in their mouths given that they inject the acid as a weapon to weaken their prey. They eat worker drones, and if a worker had that acid in their oil, it would just eat the disassembly drone from the inside out if they didn’t have that neutralizer coating their internals. What better way to make sure it gets ingested automatically along with food potentially contaminated with the very acid that could hurt them than to put it in their saliva? Fucking genius.
