Atelier Lilas is my personal creator project.
I'm currently in the process of making a visual novel game, and I will be posting about its progress and sneak peeks (or just random stuff I find funny)
Personal: @linrambles
I made this page mostly as a progress blog for my passion game project, hoping to see if it clicks with an audience :)
A bit abot me I'm in my early 20s, my pronouns are they/them, living somewhere in the Asia continent. :)
About my game
Currently working on a visual novel game, titled The Clockmaker's Tales. It's an interactive visual novel where you, as the player, interact with different characters and question them to find the truth. This game doesn't give you a list of answers to choose from, instead you will be given an input box to talk to the characters directly, and be part of their own story. :)
P.S. Also! Please checkout the concept album! The people who made this are very talented and I think they deserve a lot of support!
Synopsis:
You're a traveler who takes a refuge in a clock shop to shelter from rain. The shopowner, a clockmaker, offers to tell you a story to keep you company while you wait for the rain to calm down. As you listen to their tales, however, you drift asleep...
When you wake up, you realize you're no longer in the clock shop. In fact, you have no idea where you are at all. Then a girl comes up to you, asking you to find her missing brother.
However, something tells you that her case is not as simple as it might seem...
Gameplay:
In every chapter, there will be a small section where a player can enter in the dialogue box freely. There, you wil be given hints on sets of questions to ask in order to progress the story (things the player absolutely needs to know). After that, it's free range! You can either end the conversation, or ask more if you're a lore enthusiast.
Disclaimer:
The conversation system is NOT made by generative AI, which means all the dialogue is 100% written by me and will always be the same for all players.
That being said, intfloat/e5-base, the open source model I use for text filtering and question matching is a trained model, and is basically a form of AI.
I don't support the use of generative AI in art, nor do I approve of the massive environmental waste produced by data centers. So this is one of my attempts at using AI in a way that isn't continuously using energy to generate results, but rather using an already trained data model that can run locally on any computer (sine it's not constantly generating something it doesn't need high gpu to run)
About my project
So you might be wondering why I'm separating my project from my game, it's because while the game I'm currently working on is part of my passion project, it's not really the main goal.
Of course the game is still part of the canon and is related to the main story, but it's still a side-story or let's say some sort of a short story to get people a bit familiar with the world.
I will be updating this post with more concept art / idea related to the main project (which is also a game! just not a visual novel one), but since most of my time is spent on the visual novel, it will be a while before that happens.
The main concept of the universe is taht time = magic. And clocks are tools to use magic (like wands) rather than telling time. There are 12 types of magic just like how there are 12 hours on the clock, and I will be making a post about them explaining what each hour means (their day and night meanings) and how it matches with their personalities / lore. :)
For now here is my old logo concept art I made 2 years ago. It's supposed to spell Case Infinity btw (name has changed to none because I don't really like the name anymore)
Tags
Tags that I'll be using mainly for my blog :)
Will be adding more as needed
i draw sometimes - all art related posts! (except fanart)
let's talk lore - this is for any lore ramblings or new additions to the current worldbuilding
programming is not my passion - I don't see myself using this often, but if I do it's probably because I'm complaining about code
fanart because i'm a fan - fanarts! I won't be posting much but sometimes I get the urge to draw my favs :)
the clockmaker's tales - all posts related to the novel game!
game update - major game updates, mostly concerning things like release, event submissions, etc.
Private life issues will be tagged as private life :)
Drew Argus from Reverse!
She's my top favourite character from that game, and I think I tried to get around 4 or 5 copies? My friend knows I don't play reverse often but he always lets me know whenver she reruns haha.
Presenting the first story of The Clockmaker's Anecdotes series!
As you can see, the series will feature one painting and a story related to it, the stories are meant to be sort of vague to leave a little bit of room for interpetation. ;)
I have been swamped with work lately so unfortunately I couldn't progress on my game a lot, but I'm right now working on a drawing series titled The Clockmaker's Anecdotes.
In the series I plan to have 6 different drawings with flash prose that shows glimpses of the world The Clockmaker's Tales takes place in.
I take my time with drawing so I'll release each drawing probably every few weeks to a month, but I'm really excited to show you guys once they're done :)
I tried to make the scene look much more like an "underground" place. I'm really not sure about the eyes they look a bit weird, but for now I'm mostly happy with how it looks overall :)
One pet peeve I have while figuring out the social media thing is that for some reason most "big" platforms disabled my account and I'm pretty sure it's because I'm using protonmail which is a much secure email provider than google or yahoo.
Almost feels like they really can't handle people not willing to give away their data for free.
"The Clockmaker's tales seldom have happy endings."
Showing the visuals for the loading screen of my game!
I'm planning that every new loading screen will feature a different quote / fan fact about the Clockmaker. I have a few more in mind that I might share at later points but they're still work in progress (English is hard).
I don't play genshin anymore because my pc's gpu keeps acting up but I heard Kaveh will have a big focus in the next main story so I had to draw him with his ascention material.
And yes him being the only one using Mourning Flower as his ascention material is still one of my favorite things about him. 😩
I'm trying to be more comfortable drawing with a painterly style but I don't usually draw fanart because I struggle to translate anime characters into semi-realistic style esp the hair part lol
Still trying to get used to the site and all. I will slowly start random updates on my game at some point, sneak peeks and the like, and just random lore about the universe
And sometimes I'll be posting fanarts of stuff I like but that will be less often
I first intended this to be much more formal ish but this is tumblr who cares lol
nice to be back
