Without a doubt 👆 It's funny sometimes we think to ourselves, "life isn't moving quickly enough for me!" Or "I should be so much further and doing so much more" and as much as we are aware of it, we fail to consciously notice how much we are constantly growing up until this time of the year. Reflect upon the wonderful lessons you've learnt this year and the not so wonderful but really worthwhile ones. There are many different philosophies in life - some of us are in competition with others, some with ourselves and others fall somewhere in between the 2. I used to compete with me and everyone around me. Defining much of my success by what I'd been taught was successful. Now I'm less consumed and concerned with the opinions and ideals of others and more focused on creating a reality that is healthy happy and lucrative for me and by my standards. So many of us are working our asses off to go nowhere fast. We have no clue of our direction so we work ourselves in to a hole lot of unhealthy activity and practices. As the new year unfold reassess what you're doing and why you're actually doing it. Working hard and understanding why can be a beautiful thing. Working hard for the wrong reasons however, is energy poorly spent and never regained. Live with purpose. Define this life for yourself and worry less about what you're meant to be and more about who you actually are and what actually makes this life worth living for you. See beyond what you're told to see. Rise above and be discerned. People will often and sometimes always tell you what's not possible and sometimes it's not even what they say but rather their behaviour that will give you serious doubts but you have to believe that what you want and want you dream is actually possible even if you can't quite see how yet. Today was the International Day of Peace and a reminder that now more than ever we need to exhibit more compassion and less ego. More empathy and less judgment. We live in a world that all about the "I" yet many of us constantly self destruct and care little about not destroying others. Success starts as a seed of hope and belief and is achieved by smart work and strategy. It starts with your ability to allow yourself to believe you are capable and to recognise your potential. It takes doing what others won't be willing to do. It takes mastering whatever your area of interest is. It requires strategic thinking rather than over thinking. It requires common sense and an insatiable appetite for growth. It takes discipline and endless drive. It takes bravado and the ability to take smart chances. It will require you to muster up the guts to fail many times if need be and still push while learning from each faliure. You aren't going to feel like pushing everyday but be as consistent as you can be. You aren't going to feel like sacrificing sometimes but do it anyway. Mediocrity will be fine for some but for those who seek something else it is the sacrifices we make now and the good habits we cultivate that will create the future we seek later. We spend our whole week rushing and gushing over so many fleeting things. Our lives aren't often effortless and for some of us it feels like we spend our years working so hard for a few weeks of fruition. Fruition of what we might actually prefer to be doing or the life we wish we could have daily and not just for a few days in a year. We spend time anticipating and trying to be all the things we can be for everyone. Take a minute, this world can destroy your essence if you let it. We all have things to achieve. .. goals to reach ... money to make etc etc etc, but slow down if you spend your whole life rushing through moments and shuffling and hustling ... is that really living? Find pleasure in the everyday. Be efficient but find value in also taking the time to do things properly. Enjoy moments not just on the weekends, but also on a random Monday or Thursday afternoon. We are so busy trying to be successful that many of us are running ourselves to the grave in pursuit of a well designed life. Slow down create quality rather than rushing through quantity. Sometimes ... we just have to let go and let things happen simply as they should. Life is full of menacing and marvelous little tidbits and a lot of time what really impacts the experience is our perspective. Even when served with a plate of disappointment, there is no need to loose all hope and go into a state of disarray (though sometimes that seems much easier lol) instead recognise that all things work for the greater good and if we shift our perspective just a little and trust in what we believe in we notice that things do indeed begin to work out beautifully and sometimes mysteriously in a gar better way than we could have imagined. Sometimes life is creating such a perfect moment for you that a small setback won't even be remembered once the sustainable beauty begins to unfold. Sometimes we are ready to settle for just a moment of happiness when things are working out in such a way that we will have a lifetime of joy. Have faith in your biggest dreams they're on the way.
