What Michael Bay taught me about sound in film
I never realized the importance of sound until I critically watched a Michael Bay film. It taught me that if I ever have to make corporate videos for my marketing campaign I would need to hire a professional sound recordist.
Everyone knows who Michael Bay is. He’s the guy who makes all the Transformer movies. Now the scripts are AWFUL, like they are all T&A and big trucks. Movies designed for the hard core Trump enthusiast.
The problem with his movies is that it lacks any substance and any stimulation to my cranial nerves, but I’m always drawn into the movie. Like some brash talking guy hypnotizing me into believing all his lies and slush. But you know what keeps me interested? It’s the SOUND. The big crashes, the lasers, the punches, the bullets and hot girls breathing heavily while running around in scantily clad attire.
Michael Bay has taught me that in order to create something cinematic I would need to pay attention to sound. Sound in cinema draws you in and what keeps you hypnotized into believing it’s the greatest thing in the world. So when I launch my marketing campaigns for my product, the first and foremost thing I have to get is a sound recordist.
