2017 Falcons Regular Schedule Released | April 22, 2017 - The countdown to September 10 begins.

- Week 2: Sunday Night Football (NFC C’ship rematch) vs. Green Bay Packers - Week 5: BYE WEEK - Week 7: Sunday Night Football (SB rematch) at New England Patriots - Week 10: FOX Game of the Week vs. Dallas Cowboys (#1 seed in 2016) - Week 11: Thursday Night Football vs. Seattle Seahawks - Week 14: Thursday Night Football at New Orleans Saints - Week 15: Monday Night Football vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Week 17: End season vs. Carolina Panthers

                                                              Notes for the Season:

- Atlanta is slated to play five prime-time games this year. 2 games will be at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and 3 will be on the road. - Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers will be the NFC Championship rematch & also the official home opener of the brand new home Mercedes-Benz Stadium. - Week 7 will be in Primetime when the Falcons face the reigning Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl LI in Foxboro, Mass.

With a handful of primetime appearances, the Falcons will receive a lot of well-earned exposure after capturing last year’s NFC crown. Atlanta made two primetime appearances during each of the last three regular seasons. The last time they played five such games was in 2013.

Falcons have hired Steve Sarkisian as their new offensive coordinator | February 7, 2016  - Steve Sarkisian replaces Kyle Shanahan as Offensive Coordinator.

Timeline of contact for job: - Dan Quinn first reached out to Nick Saban Monday afternoon about Steve Sarkisian and then phoned Sarkisian about Falcons OC job after that.

- Sarkisian brings 17 years of coaching experience – one year in the NFL – to Atlanta, including being an offensive analyst and the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the University of Alabama in the 2017 National Championship game. 

- Sarkisian spent five years as the head coach for the University of Washington (2009-13). In 2013, Washington’s offense set school records and was in the top 20 in total offense, rushing offense, pass efficiency and scoring offense. He also coached current Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant during his time as a Huskie. 

- His lone year in the NFL was spent with the Oakland Raiders in 2004, where he was the quarterbacks coach. During that season, his quarterbacks (Kerry Collins – 3,495 yards; Rich Gannon – 524 yards) passed for more than 4,000 yards, as Oakland ranked eighth in passing in the NFL.
