I am discontinuing this bot. NHC repeatedly modified their RSS feed formatting last year and I am no longer invested in keeping up with adaptations to preserve functionality. It became inconvenient being that I am a complete layman with RSS and automations whose passion lies with the output topic rather than the bot's inner workings.
I invite interested parties to remake this bot if they would like to keep the concept alive. I stumbled through the dark on Integromat, now called make.com, to do so. Should you take up the mantle, I beg of you one thing: follow in my footsteps by coding a step which parses the advisory text for instances of "Gulf of America" and replaces them with "Gulf of Mexico." :)
Sorry to disappoint everyone who enjoyed this bot's presence on their dash over the years. I always saw your comments and quietly recognized the regular interactors. Wishing you all well this hurricane season. As someone born and raised on the Gulf (of Mexico) Coast, let's hope for nothing but fish storms.
