#I've been busy but I heard the new world included in the new pack is gonna be based on aotearoa

#I have literally wanted a small kiwi town world to be able to recreate my hometown and I am so disappointed

#I get that they might not have wanted to misrepresent Māori culture but also. hire some Māori consultants who can help make sure everything

#is accurate and respectful. because pretending like Māori culture doesn't exist in aotearoa isn't like. better

#why the hell are other nonwestern cultures allowed to get represented in food and clothes and festivals

#but the aotearoa world gets 'ok so we've got our American culture and hobbies but let's transplant them into a world with very superficial

#the erasure of even te reo Māori is infuriating. we have rabbits and sheep and cows just fine. but as soon as there's a bird with a name

#that isn't white it's a fucking plumbird now. just calling it a takehe is so easy and you went out of your way to remove te reo Māori

#why do we get komorebi and sulani and tomarang and ciudad enamorada as place names but not awa morearea (adventure river) or something

#so you can't say that they want to keep place names either English or simlish. that's bullshit

#if you wanted to do marine life we have so much. maui dolphins and albatross and seals and sea lions and whales and koura

#and also the festivals are nothing to do with the festivals that really happen here

#it would have been so cool if there was a festival inspired by matariki. and you could buy a hangi there and eat it at a picnic spot and

#there'd be interactions like 'reflect on past year' and 'look to the sky' etc

#and maybe there was an after school activity for kapa haka the kids could sign up for. and then at the festival a bunch of child townies do

#a kapa haka performance for everyone. it was such a wasted opportunity to not do something like that smh my head

#AND ANOTHER THINF. even the world doesn't look like a small kiwi town. especially not a coastal one

#that arched bridge pisses me off. bridges don't look like that here. they are flat and boring and have graffiti on them like god intended

#and there's no fire safety signs :( I bet there aren't even pohutakawa trees that have red flowers in the summer

#also yeah the lack of a dairy and fish and chips shop is astounding. what the fuck kind of research did they do

#but yeah there are so many activities for adventure I can think of that were missed opportunities because they are aesthetically congruent

#with kiwiana. imagine a luge you could go down. imagine a bush rabbit hole where you can go tramping for a few hours. collecting kaimoana

#from the beach. also I think there should be the tino rangatiratanga flag as an object you can buy in build mode

#similar to the pride flags. except it's tino rangatiratanga and you can put it up in the windows of peoples houses like in real life
