Serial YB2 three phase induction motors are designed and manufactured into flameproof type according to the specification in European Standards.
They are applicable to the location being presence of Methane, Ethanol, Coal gas and Ethylene explosive gases and vapors and can be used as drivers.
The mark of explosion protection is Eex d or Ex d IIB T4.
For motors frame size 8 – 355, output range 0,55kw – 315kw, Poles 2 – 6P with rated voltage up to 690V, 50Hz,

To Obtain approximated performance values @60Hz and with supply voltage different than 400VAC for motors originally made for 400VAC and 50Hz , have to be multiplied by the following coefficient as table :
The basic construction and amounting arrangement of the series motors are IMB3, IMB35 & IMB5
The degree of protection of motor main body enclosure is IP44, IP54 and IP55, and for the flameproof structure

The Motor fans are made from reinforced acrylic plastering. HT150 gray cast iron or weldment of steel plate. For plastic fan , the resistance measured according to the method specified in EN50014 subclause 23.4.7.8 shal not greater than 1Gῼ.
The stator winding use polyester enamel round copper wire ( Class F) or Polyimide enamel round copper wire ( Class H ) . The complete wound stator cores are vacuum pressure impregnated (VPI) to make them be a solid integral. This process enables the winding to posses excellent electrical and mechanical properties. High Moisture resistant ability and athermal stability.
For The Stator winding of frame size 250-280, Thermal resistor are embedded or anticondensation heaters are equipped. The leads of them are bought into the terminal box.
The motor rotor adopts squirrel cage type. The alumunium motor motor is fixed on the shaft by means of shrink fit and balanced well to make motors operate smoothly with little noise and vibration
The motors are provide with a cylindrical shaft extension and transmit by means of coupling or spur-gear unit, for spur gearing, the gear pitch diameter should not less then 3 times of shaft extension diameter. Two shaft extension or special shaft extension motors can be also be produced by request.
The terminal box located in the top of the motor. The terminal boxes are designed and facbricated with either three or six terminal with one or two entries., another galvanized steel or copper screw in the box is fixed for inside earthing. The entries of the terminal box are suitable for rubber insulated tcable entry and explosion proof flexible pipe ( armoured cable) the protection degree of terminal boxes is IP55. These series motor are so designed in mechanical contrusction that should the explosive mixture insude the motors be ignited by some cause or other, the flame proof enclosure are capable of withstanding the explosion and of preventing the sparks inside passing trough the flameproof join surface and the ignition of explosion mixture surrounding the enclosure by sparks
Exercise strict control over the flameproof joint surface length . gap or diameter clearance, the surface roughness between the surface of all the parts constituting the flame proof enclosure and the electrical clearance and creepage distance between bare conducting parts in the terminal box and those between the bare conducting parts and the netallic enclosure
