Have you ever yeeted a pumpkin?
I have indeed, yeeted a pumpkin. When Halloween is over and theyâre all sad and soft, thatâs the best time to yeet them at stuff.
ameliadlucaâ:
Amelia looked up from her book and grabbed her cup of coffee, staring at the stranger from behind it while sipping calmly. She had been trying to ignore his words for the last minutes but he was making it impossible now. Was this for real? The woman rested the cup on the counter, speaking carefully. â Youâd think for a town full of murders, people would be scared of talking about it. â She tried to be polite but biting her tongue was almost impossible, â people lost their families in many ways because of all this shit, we are not a circus attraction. â She was tired of people speculating about ghosts and demons. Deaths are real. Murderers, victims, family members⌠not witches, or demons, or ghosts.Â
âWhy would people be scared of talking about it?â Atom questioned curiously at the woman. âIf anything itâs going to create awareness that there might be something to be scared of. And well, itâs not going to make anything worse.â His tone has straightened out somewhere, but there was still a smile displayed across his lips. It was there almost permanently. âBesides, Iâm not here for the murders, thatâs none of my business. Not really. Just all the other spooky stuff that happened forever ago.â
Best piece of ghost evidence you've ever captured?
I never get to capture a lot of the super weird stuff that happens, only the small things like lights turning on and whatever. Which sounds like a cop out I know. But my camera battery will mysteriously run out, or it will go out of focus, or something silly enough for me to sound like Iâm lying. Bitch ghosts messing with my stuff.
atlasqvinnâ:
Atlas was just starting to worry that they came off weird for admitting that they were a fan, but they let out a small sigh of relief as Atom introduced himself. They used both hands to hold onto Atomâs outstretched one to shake, as if they were still trying to figure out that he was real and here in the flesh. He was definitely cuter in person, they had to admit. âIâm Atlas. Iâm, uh, pretty sure youâve already exceeded expectations,â they said, before starting to lightly blush when they realized how that mustâve sounded. âI-I mean, itâs just thatâŚIâve watched all your videos and I was excited to see that youâd be here. And, that, uhmâI have a lot of stories I can tell you, and Iâve read on nearly every book about Salem. So you could call me your personal tour guide. I-if you want, I mean.âÂ
Atom definitely hadnât been expecting to find someone who was willing to show him around the town, let alone so easily. The warm handshake felt very genuine, and he couldnât help the impossible smile that spread across his lips, especially when he noticed the blush almost glowing across the brunetteâs cheeks. He wasnât exactly used to making people blush, especially not people who looked like them. âI-, thatâs really generous of you,â he chuckled, reluctantly taking his hand back and putting it in his pocket, the other still holding onto the go-pro. âIâd be so, so grateful for any information youâre willing to share. But you donât need to put yourself out for little old me. I promise Iâm not that special.â
What are you allergic to?
Your bullshit. And bees.
hadleyfxsterâ:
alright, so he was clearly recording himself. the real question was, did haddie still want to ho along with whatever it was he was talking about. well, the answer was pretty obvious. âcrazy? i mean, iâd join a witch coven. does that make me crazy?â they mused, sharp eyes turning to crescents as they grinned at the man. lifting their coffee, they dug their teeth into the lid for a moment before lifting it to take a sip. âi still think iâll call you a modern day ghostbuster,â hadley responded in kind, expression turning into a smirk. âyouâre still investigating the ghoulies and all.â truthfully, outside this conversation theyâd probably never call him a ghostbuster. well, unless it proves to be a fun point of teasing. for now, it already was starting to taste a bit stale on their tongue. âanyways, iâm pretty sure ghosts donât have legalities and racist ghosts can get away with a hella lot of things if they threaten their landlords enough.â who knew how the fake ghost systems worked- hads surely didnât. âatom, huh? thatâs a neat name. mineâs hadley, cheers, eh.â
âI think youâd be crazy if you had the opportunity to join a witch coven and you said no,â Adam teased, a bright, cheery expression still spread across his features. As much as he disagreed with being called a ghost buster, Atom guessed he could see where the woman would be comig from if sheâd never seen any of his videos. âI donât get rid of anything though, if anything I make whatever is there angrier.â Atom shrugged, turning his full attention to her now, ignoring the other person who heâd been speaking to who obviously wasnât going to be of any help to him. âNice to meet you Hadley,â Atom went to cheers her in return, realizing that he didnât actually have his own drink. âClink,â he voiced, laughing at his own stupid joke. âIâm Atom.â
Who's your favourite youtuber, aside from yourself?
The GOAT, the OG, the one and only.
atlasqvinnâ:
Atlas wasnât usually the type of person to purposefully eavesdrop on a conservation, but they couldnât help but hover by the front desk, pretending to sort some books while they were internally freaking out over the fact that the guy was the youtuber they had been watching a lot recently. They couldnât believe that Atom was in Salem, but this town was pretty obvious to visit, right? Still, though, it was hard for Atlas to process. They almost didnât realize that Atom was speaking to them (or, sort of), and they fumbled briefly. âUh. Youâre just not asking the right people,â Atlas managed to tell him, a nervous smile appearing on their face. âUhm, hi. This is probably super awkward, but Iâm kind of a fan?âÂ
Atom had to do a double take at the person he was speaking to for a couple of reasons. The first, being that they were gorgeous, the second being that they actually said they were a fan of his. There had only been a few moments in Atomâs life where people had recognized him from Youtube, but theyâd pretty much all been teenage girls. This person was... Definitely not a teenage girl, and it took everything Atom had not to scream right there in the library. âI- uh, um-â Atom stammered out, his brain short circuiting for a second before he actually was able to hold out his hand to introduce himself properly, completely and unintentionally ignoring the original person he had been speaking to. âA fan, wow. Hi well, Iâm Atom, I guess. I hope I live up to the expectation.â
charleeismsâ:
Charlee had to bite their cheek to keep from snickering at the conversation going on between the part time clerk and the blogger at their side. They were standing aside going through photos for a news piece in the collegeâs paper while they waited for the stranger to move so they could pester the new clerk at their dadâs shop. They werenât sure who they felt more bad for in the moment, they clearly uninterested and vaguely annoyed clerk or the blogger getting absolutely nowhere from trying to interview the clerk. When Atom turned his head and spoke, they took the opportunity to respond. âI think heâs just annoyed that youâre cutting into his playboy reading time.â The clerk scowled deeply at Charlee then began shooing both of them away from the container. Charlee grabbed their bag and gestured for the other to follow them over to the waiting area in the corner. âIgnore him and come with me. I got all kinds of stories to share.â
As Atom had spoken to the stranger he hadnât expected them to absolutely come for the person behind the counter, and he couldnât have held in the laugh that erupted even if he wanted to. âMan, you still read Playboy? Come on, itâs all free online, what are you doing?â He questioned, joining them in teasing the poor clerk. Thanks to Atom, heâd had a rough afternoon, probably. At the suggestion that he should follow the red head, Atom didnât really have a reason to say no, shrugging and doing as he was told after watching them grab their bag. âStories? What kind of stories?â he questioned, his tone excited as he walked beside them, not bothering to say goodbye to the person he was talking to earlier, his go-pro now pointed between the two of them.
i canât believe heâs really built like that
karenbellxâ:
âSure thing.â It was a regular response, she was an obedient waitress just like she was an obedient daughter. The words had left her lips a million and one times. She bent down and pulled the bottle from the fridge, skipping the cap easily and sliding it across the bar to him. âFirst and last, on me,â she says, a layer of insistence in her words. There is only one other customer remaining and to be honest, she never uses her employee perks, the most she does is eat a packet of crisps on her break. She feels generous. Maybe she just feels happy to have someone new warming a seat for a short time, she may as well try and add something to his day too. âIsnât it late to have your first drink of the day?â
Atom was a little taken back at the red head telling him that the drink was on her, tilting his head curiously at her. âOh, wow. Thank you! Whatâs the occasion?â He questioned her with a light chuckle, bringing the glass bottle to his lips and taking a long sip. It had been a long day of getting settled in and unpacking, so he felt like he kind of needed this. âTime doesnât exist,â he mused, mostly joking but sort of not. Atom was more of a night owl anyway. âI slept in really late so it still feels early to me, I guess.â
gnarleyn8â:
âi know you think that makes you unique, but it doesnât,â he assured him, bringing the tea back to his lips for an audible sip as he glanced to the person. âyou can try to be shane madej all you want but youâve gotta have the personality for it that tricks people into giving you what you want. maybe you need your own little puss-boy ryan to be submissive and be the ânice guyâ to convince everyone itâs a good idea.â chuckling at himself slightly, nate turned completely to face the stranger with a shrug of his shoulders. âplaces typically considered haunted here: the witch house, burying point, the joshua ward house, even the hawthorne hotel apparently has bridget bishop on the sixth floor. all youâve gotta go do is taunt them, apparently.â
âWhy, are you offering to be my little puss-boy?â Atom questioned at the manâs weirdly aggressive monologue, the smile still across his lips. The opinions of others were like farts in the wind to him, especially since the taller man had given him the information heâd needed, anyway. âAlthough, I donât think youâd be a very nice guy with your someone shit in my cereal this morning attitude. Seriously, lighten up. Youâll give yourself wrinkles and trust me they wonât look cute on you.â Atom made a mental note of the places the stranger had mentioned, making sure to do a little research and maybe take a walk around later.Â
gabefmâ:
gabe overheard the entire conversation and had to fight back the urge to bust out laughing. tourists would come into the shops often all looking for the same thing. a strange encounter, something ghostly that gave the small town meaning, because if they didnât find that what was the point in coming to salem? he almost didnât notice that the other male started speaking to him. â â huh? â he started, lip held tightly between his teeth, â wellâŚto be fair, manâŚyou wonât find what youâre looking for in here. try the museum. they have to sell the idea ofâŚghoulies. youâll get all the answers you want. â
Atom shook his head at the mention of the museum. He didnât want fabricated truths sold to him by people who were looking to make money, he wanted real life encounters from the people who lived in the town. That was always the best way to get a good idea of where to start looking. âI donât trust people that sell because itâs their job. How do you know what theyâre telling you is genuine? You donât.â Atom spoke honestly as heâd been lead astray before. Ghost hunting was a lot of running around, and well, hunting. âSurely you have have heard Chinese whispers of something in this tiny town?â
cole-chapelâ:
The man took the sarcasm in stride and in Coleâs book, at least, earned some points. He was moody even on his good days and while annoyance was a pretty typical state of mind for him, it was the people that put up with it that usually seemed to win him over. Not this guy, yet, but there was some curiosity piqued at the comments. âAndâŚhave you ever seen someone possessed?â he asked, brow raised. âAnd or dead?âÂ
Talking to strangers was very hit or miss or Atom, sometimes they would entertain his nonsense, sometimes not. Sometimes it took them a minute to make up their mind, which seemed to be the case for tall, dark and handsome here. âNo, no Iâve not seen anyone possessed, yet. But Iâve seen a dead body,â Atom added casually. The dead body was only sort of to do with his ghost hunting, and he tried not to think about it. âAdmittedly, that time wasnât all fun.â
