“Well alright then.” That was certainly curious but Bella wasn’t one for drama most of the time so she probably wouldn’t ever know one way or another. “I know a few of them. I haven’t been here even a week yet so I’m still trying to meet people.”

She wasn’t getting all that much information from her, neither of them seemed very open. Charlotte however was much more willing to be open about people she had not met or had briefly got to know, “Met anyone you like?” she asked, a genuine question. She was trying to find out information but she was totally willing to share too. It seemed they were both new. Maybe there was something useful in this connection.

“Oh yeah? And why’s that?” Grace said with a smile and it was already like Charlotte could read her mind. “Hot chocolate sounds amazing.” She tossed the tube she’d flown out of into the stack by the line to get up to the top of the hill and followed Charlotte to the closest hot chocolate stand. “So what brings you to Priceless? Just bored like the rest of us?”

     “i just know,” she told grace again, it explained nothing but it was all she had to offer. didn’t you just know when you met someone who you got along with? this was the first time so far, everyone else was too much hard work. forced conversations and confusing relationships she had to navigate through. charlotte thrived in chaos, desired fun, when she was met with walls and limits, there was something wrong. 

she began walking, wrapping her scarf around her neck as she reached the stand, a few people in front deciding what to order. there was no real answer to the question, she made irrational decisions all the time but between her agent and what she had seen on television, this had seemed like the logical explanation, “something like that. guess i just felt like i needed to find a new crowd, some new people to get to know. seems like you guys all enjoy getting to know each other so i made the right choice.”

It was quite obvious to Bella that Charlotte didn’t care one bit about anything that came out of her mouth and she had to shake her head at the thought, keeping her smile plastered on her face. “Oh? What all have you done? Sorry I don’t recognize you, I live under a rock I’m told.”

"Nothing worth mentioning,” she decided. It was better not to talk about what the paparazzi already wrote, if someone didn’t know -- well, that would be a nice surprise. She hadn’t recognised the other person either, there was no offence taken. She lived in her own world and in that world, she was the centre of the universe. That was allowed. “It’s okay, doesn’t bother me. Too many people in this world to know them all. But you know the ones that have been in this house a while, right?”

Grace was honestly surprised that someone new to the house knew who she was and she smiled at the other. “Oh wow. Now I feel awful for not knowing you. But thank you! That’s so sweet of you to say.” She didn’t know where Charlotte knew her from but she had a little worry it was from the drama she’d started when she first arrived. “It’s lovely to meet you Charlotte.”

Sweet? It wasn’t a word that was usually used to describe her but she’d accept it as a compliment for now. “You too, I have a feeling we’re going to be great friends,” she told Grace, nothing in her tone suggesting it wasn’t true. Charlotte often meant what she said, it was just that sometimes her mouth worked faster than her brain and she forgot about the million social contracts she made and broke on a daily basis. “Hot chocolate?” she suggested.

“Well online shopping is online shopping.” Bella said with a shrug, she wasn’t super nosy so she didn’t plan on questioning the girl on what she was buying. “My story? Well if you mean what do I do, I’m a dancer. Ballroom specifically. And I came here for a change of scenery.” She said with a smile. “You?”

“Cool,” was her instant reply to the short version of events that had led Isabella to being in the house. She, herself, wasn’t sure exactly how to describe the series of events that led to her appearing just in time for the end of season one. There was everything and yet nothing at all between then and now. “I don’t know, really,” she raised her shoulders in a half shrug and crossed her legs, “Guess I just felt like mixing it up, I’ve already done enough everywhere else. Why not do it on reality TV too?”

“Well at least one of us is prepared, because I was certainly not.” Grace said with a giggle. “Maybe you could help a girl out and show me how to actually do that without hurting myself again.” She nodded. “It was fun, but I think this will be even better. But I also just love the idea of a white Christmas, even if the snow is fake.” The blonde said with a smile. “I’m Grace by the way. Not sure we’ve met.”

"Always prepared,” she corrected. A smile still on her face that was lit with genuine interest. “I know who you are, Grace, but I have to say,” she tilted her head to the side studying her for a few seconds, “You’re even prettier in real life.” She barely flickered over the moment, moving a few steps forwards, snow boots crunching in the snow as she looked around at the others at the festival, it was then that she looked back, “I’m Charlotte., by the way, almost forgot to tell you my name.”

Teddy put his hands over his face getting all excited “Santa?!” He squealed like a child clapping his hands together a bunch of times. “I don’t actually think I would suit a sparkly Christmas hat, however if you got a jersey I would definitely wear it like a king” he said with a chuckle tossing popcorn into the air and catching it in his mouth. “Well quite a lot depending if you’re an indoor or outdoor type of person, there’s drinking, swimming, we’re right near a beach so going to the beach, some people head out to the nearest local clubs. And of course, watching Christmas movies close to the season” he said gesturing over to the TV screen. 

He was the same as on the screen -- she could see that now. “You never know until you try,” she hazarded, hazel eyes skimming over him once more. As he spoke, she stood up, walking over to where he stood. “May be too early for a club, unfortunately,” she thought aloud, although it did sound like the best option by far to her. The weather wasn’t great but she’d seen worse, it had never caused her to stay inside before, “The great outdoors it is for today, I’ve had enough auto tune for a lifetime. Swimming it is,” she decided, “You feeling it?”

Cassidy walked into the room overhearing the noise of something on the TV and another new face to her near. “What’s going on?” She asked with a friendly smile as she plopped herself down on the nearby chair. “I see you picked a pretty good flick,” she pointed to the screen. 

"Good is one word for it, not one that I’d use but it’s definitely in the dictionary,” she recognised Cassidy, she was her new roommate after all. Maybe she should make more of an effort to get to know her. Her lips curled up in the corners, a smile half forced and half real. She wasn’t used to being very genuine when getting to know someone when she wasn’t just having fun. “So, roomie,” she began, “What do you like to do for fun?”

Bella was headed to find something to do since she was bored and she heard the TV playing so she headed to see what was on and who happened to be watching it. She didn’t recognize the girl on the couch, which wasn’t surprising she since hadn’t met a whole lot of people in the house. “Doing some online shopping?” The red head said in a chipper tone and smiled when the girl looked up. “My favorite kind of shipping personally.”

"something like that,” she almost snorted as she gazed at her phone, sliding once more in a world of her own. she only looked up after a further 30 seconds, “i’m shopping for something, probably not the same kind you’re talking about,” she clicked to lock her phone finally locking eyes with the rather happy sounding person in the room with her. she put her arm up on the back of the couch, resting her head on her hand, “so, what’s your story?”

Hearing the sounds of the Christmas movie playing from the living room, Teddy walked over and jumped over the couch as he sat on it. He was careful not to spill the popcorn as he rested himself on the couch. Listening to her commotion of the girl beside him he directed towards her “what did you do, win a sparkly rhinestone Christmas hat?” He questioned with a chuckle. “In all actually though, that would be a sick accessory idea, I should write that down on my wish-list.”

"you never know,” she responded, barely looking up as she heard the other speak, “santa clause might bring it for you next year if you put it on your list early.” it was only then after speaking that she looked up from her phone, her eyes lighting up slightly at the sight of the other person in the room -- she had seen the twins before. “well, what’s there to do?” she asked, suggesting and hoping that he had a good idea of how she could spend her day.

     “ and so the mystery begins. ⏤ guess we’ll have to see if you can pull a nancy drew and figure me all out. “ he retorted, obviously joking around with her. nikki was the type of person that was pretty realistic about things and about the people around him but rumors and gossip weren’t things he paid too much attention to. he’d been in a shit ton of drama himself and he wouldn’t want to be labeled as all the things that he’d been labeled as just in the timespan of being on this show. he met people and formed his own opinion. “ i guess i should rephrase and say most people don’t like secrets they can’t figure out. ⏤ and i happen to be one of those people that doesn’t make it all that easy. “ he laughed as if he was trying to come off like he was still teasing around but it was pretty true. “ i think you’re underestimating me. i happen to be a pro when it comes to dealing with train wrecks. i’m practically a train conductor at this point. “ he spoke, raising his hand up and draping it over the back of the couch. “ no backsies? wow, this is serious business. “ he laughed, “ i’ll go with the cliche first choice, dare. “ 

    “i don’t need to figure you all out. that’d take far too long - just the parts that interest me,” she told him, completely honest. it was what she had always done, picked and chosen from the parts of people and herself that she liked the most. it’s what she intended to do here, too. there were so many people to choose from, so many things she wanted to do. “not easy, huh?” she jibed, the corner of her mouth upturned into a smirk, “thanks for letting me know,” that, was a joke. she knew that people often took her seriously. she never clarified, never went back on her word; she was more a subject of public opinion than a person hald the time. 

she ignored the other comment, he wouldn’t be dealing with her train wreck anytime soon, she was more than capable of that. she was also quite sure that he was one of his own. “it is serious business, it’s a serious game and the consequences can be dire - for your ego at least,” she reassured him, eyes narrowed to express sincerity. “okay, BOLD guy,” she leaned her head back into a thoughtful lull, “is there someone you really don’t like?” she asked, “well, that or the closest thing to it. i want you to send them a text message and beg them to meet up with you tomorrow afternoon. going to need a follow-up on this one, too. you know, when it’s done. unless you back out.”

When Grace heard that Priceless was bringing winter to them early she really couldn’t contain her excitement and her first stop was the tubing hill. She had ridden up to the top and had a blast on the ride down, well at least until she tumbled off the tube at the bottom of the hill and got a few bumps and bruises from the impact. The blonde stood up and was brushing the snow off when she saw someone come up. “You have to ride down that hill. It’s a damn ball. Just don’t fall off your tube like I did.” Her laugh was soft but she couldn’t help but laugh at her clumsy nature. “Are you excited to have another festival here? I know it’s obviously not a music festival but it should still be fun don’t you think?”

Rides were one thing but she was attending these events in the hope of something else, her life lately becoming rather boring in her books. She listened to the blonde speak, the one that she had seen portrayed so sweet with a voice to match. Even her words were innocent, “Don’t worry, I think that I’ve got this under control,” she responded easily, moving her boot in the snow. “I wasn’t here for the music festivals, I mean, I’ve been to plenty but this one’s meant to be Christmassy, right? It’s fun but it could be funner, couldn’t it?”

  “ believe me, it takes a lot outta me to not let my follower count get to my head or again, maybe i’m just a good actor. i might be coming for your title. “ he teased, he knew she was an actress which was why he made the comment in the first place. shrugging his shoulders once again, be pressed his lips together before breaking into a smile. “ you might be one of the only people that find secrets interesting. ⏤ good to know cause i can be full on mysterious. “ he commented before turning his shoulders a little so he was facing her more as well. nikki enjoyed when people went with the humor or the sarcasm. that was something he could vibe off quite easily, he felt. “ dammit, and here i was thinking you were alluding to some sort of game like in saw. i was getting excited. “ he joked, “ ⏤ but sadly i don’t keep my keys inside myself so hit me, what’s this game you speak of? “ 

     “we’ll see about that,” she warns, no real meaning in the words, the threat in them completely empty and wasted. “who doesn’t find secrets interesting? it’s what everyone feeds on. we’re always desperate to find them out, for people to let us in -- unless it’s me you’re trying to get into, i don’t think anyone wants to be a part of the TRAIN WRECK that’s inside my brain,” she tells him honestly. she’s not scared of her own truth. she knows well what others think of her, what they read about her in tabloid magazines, even her own parents agreed. she just can’t find her way to the drivers seat, she’s just a passenger to her own wicked impulses. the drivers seat is full. “bummer, what about the classic... truth or dare? i’m asking, by the way, like it’s your turn. we’re there already, it’s began. no backsies.”

   glad she was going along with the joke, nikki laughed before bringing his hand up to his chest. “ wow, i’m honored and this will forever be a memory i treasure. “ walking over, nikki sat on the spot that was previously getting patted, leaning his back into the sofa and letting out a relieved sigh to go along with the current sarcasm. “ listen, i would like nothing more than to be a little more self absorbed, it’s actually a dream of mine. “ the brunette said with a smile crossing his lips. “ ⏤ or maybe i am and i’m just putting off the humble type vibe? not trying to give away all my secrets from the get go. “ tilting his head to the side a little he quickly raised and dropped his shoulders. “ the unknown, such an intriguing thing. “ 

"all them followers must have gotten into your head on some level,” she told him as if it was a fact. she as good at pretending she knew a lot about people and very honest about her thoughts, it was what often got her into trouble, “but secrets? i like the sound of that.” she leaned one elbow on the back of the sofa, watching him intently, the same curious grin still on her face. she liked his sense of humour and she had heard things about him that reminded her of herself. she wasn’t going to say that though, instead she just enjoyed her opportunity to finally find out for herself. she angled her body towards him, “wanna play a game? not like saw or anything, there’s no keys in your body, unless that’s where you keep them.”

  walking into the living room area, nikki noticed the christmas movie on the television before noticing the actress sitting on the couch going through her phone. “ i knew the day was coming that christmas movies would start taking over this place. ⏤ it’s about to be a christmas apocalypse up in here. “ the male joked as he looked over at the girl. “ you know, no ones ever told me to come over by calling themselves mama but color me impressed. “ he joked, as nikki always did. “ i’m kidding, “ the male added, knowing not everyone got his humor or sarcasm. even though he was sure she would’ve. “ i’d like to think i was that self absorbed but we can’t always get what we want right? ⏤ i learned that one from the rolling stones themselves. “ 

   only when he spoke did she register that someone else was in the room and her attention turned from her phone to the nikki standing in the room. “oh, don’t worry, you can come to mama too if you want,” she joked, a grin on her face as she leaned back on the sofa, one hand patting the empty space beside her. her thumb idly clicked the lock function on her phone as she dropped it into her lap, “also, hey -- being self absorbed isn’t always bad. you’ve gotta be your own fan, right?” she wigged her eyebrows suggestively, “you never know what could happen.”

Sitting splayed across the brown couch in the living area, Charlotte sat not listening to the background noise that A Cinderella Story the new Netflix Christmas musical was providing but instead transfixed on her phone. “No, no, no, ooooooh yes,” she tapped away, an excited smile on her face, eyes lit up, “Come to mama.”
