“We deserve a celebration… maybe a small one at the hotel… you can invite your family and friends… co-workers even… I’ll invite some people around the hotel… It’ll be fun” Chandler spoke between kisses up her neck. He sat up straight and ran his thumb down her cheek then under her bottom lip “Do you think you can walk to the car yet? I’m kind of ready for that bath” he said with a wink.

‘ You’re right...everything we’ve been through, we deserve to show people that we made it through and are happier and more in love if that’s even possible. ‘ The thought of having something small and intimate made her even more excited. ‘ I’ll start working on the small list tomorrow sometime.’ She couldn’t help but let out a soft moan with his lips against the skin of her neck. As he pulled away she lightly bit her lip nodding to his question. ‘ I can get to the car, I should be fine. ‘ She grinned. ‘ I’m ready for that bath as well...with each day I’m getting more and more feeling on my lower half and legs. --- ‘ She smirked at her suggestive wording.

Chandler deepened the kiss but separated to chuckle at her question “If it wasn’t I’d have a ring for you” he said showing his empty hands with a short lived pout. “We can go ring shopping tomorrow” He suggested digging his face in the crook of her neck giving her a bear hug. “I love you Doc.”

She shuffled closer to him just enjoying the kiss. As he laughed, she couldn’t help but giggle herself. ‘ Oh I don’t need a ring...I don’t need anything huge for a wedding either...I don’t even care if we do city hall. ‘ She smiled leaning into him letting her hand run over his hair. Feeling his cold skin against her neck made her shiver in the best of ways. ‘ I love you more Casper, My Casper... --- ‘

“Promise” he laughed at her description of their night, it was quirky and perfect just like her. Chandler was constantly surprised by how perky she was in spite of everything that has happened. He couldn’t imagine a day without her and that’s when the words bubbled from his lips like a hiccup a total surprise to both Doc and Casper “Marry me.” A goofy smile appeared on his face “I mean,…” Chandler thought of a correction but couldn’t think of anything else more true to how he felt at the moment “I mean Aubrey Johnson will you marry me?” he asked again this time pulling her into a sitting position so he  could cup her cheeks in his palms.

‘ Good...that is what sounds absolutely perfect. ‘ She spoke up. She slowly closed her eyes just enjoying the beautiful day. Everything was just stunning, one of the brightest days thus far. Taking another piece of pineapple she froze just as she was about to take a bite. Looking up at him she smiled though she was shocked at his sudden outburst. ‘ Chandler... ‘ She started, but before she could say yes, she was interrupted by him speaking again. As he asked her again, she moved her fingers to her mouth before nodding. ‘ Yes! Yes....of course I will! ‘ She leaned in kissing him once then a few more times with sweet pecks. ‘ Is this real? --- ‘ She couldn’t help but whisper to him.

Chandler smiled at her determination “Okay we’ll keep going just relax for an hour or two.” He stopped massaging her muscles and pulled out the rest of the food “Thank you for today” he said opening the fruit containers “It’s been beyond awesome”

‘ Just promise me it will be you and I in a nice hot bath together? That’s how I wan to spend the rest of the night. Bath, then cuddling up to you clothing optional...while watching Sailor Moon. ‘ She laughed at the that that would possibly look, however she didn’t really care. She’d be with the man of her dreams at the end of the day. As he took out the rest of the food, she took the container of pineapples taking a large piece, munching on it slowly. ‘ Aww, babe...no thank you for today. Thank you for sharing it with me...I just want it to be everything you want and more. Can we go back out tomorrow? Wheelchair included. --- ‘

Chandler shook his head her smile becoming infectious. He had to remind himself multiple times to remember the road while she was singing and he was laughing. Once at the park he could tell the toll the day took on her body. He sat next to her waiting for her laughing fit to stop. Chandler passed her a sandwich. “How are you feeling babe? honest.” he asked massaging her calves like in therapy.

Once she was able to settle her laughing down, Aubrey slowly positioned herself to lay down on her side with the slightly plush towels under her frame. She couldn’t help but let out an exhausted sigh as she let all the tense muscles relax. Taking the sandwich she opened the wrapping and took a bite. His fingers softly massaging her calves made her feel that much better, the fact that she could feel it was in her case a blessing in itself. As he asked her to be honest with how she was feeling, she contemplated a moment or two. In the end, she just couldn’t lie to Chandler. ‘Weeelllll... ‘ She slowly started. ‘ Every thing hurts... ‘ She admitted. ‘ But I want to keep going...I know I can keep going, I promise. --- She tried her best to assure him. Last thing she wanted was for his day to end on account of her body giving out.

Chandler pulled his phone from his pocket and handed it to her leaning on the bakery show cases until they got their strawberries. “Why are you using last names? Who are you expecting to show that to?” He asked not hiding his amused smirk at her adorable vlogging as he paid for groceries. They got to the park it was pretty secluded except for the occasional family. Chandler laid down two towels he brought from the hotel next to each other. “Do you need help sitting?” he asked putting down the food.

Aubrey made a face at Chandler sliding the phone in her pocket. ‘ I’m showing it to anyone that wants to see it. ‘ She said slightly matter of factly with a huge smile on her face. The ride to the park she took photos and some videos, especially of her singing along to some songs on the radio, followed by his reactions to her horrible singing. As they arrived to the park, she walked with him, her arms already sore but she kept going the best she could. As he set out the towels she came to a halt holding her breath. As he asked if she needed help she shook her head. ‘ No...no...I’m okay... --- ‘ She knew she wasn’t, but she didn’t want to worry him. As she eased herself down, her legs and arms gave out finally letting her collapse onto the ground. Instead of being upset she couldn’t help but laugh.

Chandler thought it best he didn’t know Jason had hit on his girlfriend before they met. He would have been less friendly. Chandler smiled when he heard her response though. He grabbed a liter of lemonade from the refrigerated section near the produce and started walking towards the bakery for Aubrey’s chocolate covered strawberries. He enjoyed the trip to the super market tremendously but he was starting to get hungry.

Aubrey followed behind him. At one point she asked Chandler for his phone to take a few more pictures. As he waited for the strawberries she would lean up lightly pecking his neck here and there. As she headed to check out and out she moved the camera in front of her to record. ‘ This is Aubrey Johnson here with Chandler Tate...this was out first trip to the market together and it was amazing! So much fun...and now, we are heading to the park for a picnic...see you there! --- ‘ She ended the video by kissing his cheek.

Chandler nodded picking up their fruit when Aubrey invited Jason over. “Nice to meet you man” Chandler shook his hand as he looked like a subtle version of a fish out of water his eyes were wide and his mouth slightly agape. Chandler looked at Aubrey a little confused before taking his hand back. “Well Aubrey and I gotta get going” he said awkwardly handing her her crutches. Once they were in the seasoning aisle “That was weird right” he whispered not sure were Jason had gone next.

Aubrey stood there with her crutches looking between them trying to hold back a giggle. ‘ Sounds good! See you at the hospital in a few weeks! ‘ She waved leaving Jason behind as she walked away with Chandler as happy as she could be. She nodded at his question smiling. ‘ See... ‘ She whispered. ‘ He had been asking me out for a while...but I kept telling him I had a boyfriend. I’m glad we ran into him...now he can stop asking me and see I’m happily taken. --- ‘ She chuckled reaching over taking the smaller container of salt.

Chandler watched her cut up the fruit from the corner of his eye. He didn’t want her to strain herself but he couldn’t say he wasn’t proud. She had come so far in so little time. “No can’t say I have. But is sounds good sweet and salty and all that” Chandler watched her bottom lip intently before kissing her and her fruit flavored lips for a minute. “Hey,” he greeted randomly before reaching over to put some grapes in the fruit salad and closing the container.

‘ That just means we have to go to the seasoning aisle so we can get a small container of salt. You have to try it at least once. ‘ She mentioned playfully. She closed her container and placed it on top of his cut up fruits. She blushed as he leaned in and kissed her, it was as if neither of them could keep their hands to themselves...or their lips for that matter. As he pulled away so did she only to look up at who he greeted. She smiled widely as the male walked over, it was one of her co-workers from the hospital. ‘ Jason! Hi! ‘ She greeted. ‘ Chandler this is Jason...my co-worker, one of the nurses on my floor. Jason, this is my boyfriend, Chandler. --- ‘ She finished with a huge grin on her face. Finally someone from her workplace could meet him and see that he was actually real. The look on Jason’s face was priceless, especially when he tripped over his words to greet Chandler back.

Chandler opened his mouth and ate the pineapple chunk once he swallowed it he chuckled “Suck a rebel” he cut the cantaloupe and left the strawberries “We’ll get some chocolate covered ones at the bakery” he said putting a cantaloupe chunk by her lips when she opened her mouth he plopped it in his and laughed maniacally.

Aubrey lightly licked the remaining juice that dripped down her finger as she laughed. ‘ Only with you...you bring the rebel out of me Chandler...which is not a bad thing. ‘ She reached over and cut up a few kiwi’s slowly. She wanted to keep pushing herself as much as she could...she wanted to have this be a normal day for Chandler...not him taking care of her the entire day. ‘ Ooooh...I like those! ‘ She piped up placing the kiwi in a dish. She looked over at him to be met with a piece of fruit by her lips. Opening her mouth she accepted it gladly chewing. ‘ Mmmm....Sweet....but you know, you can’t have watermelon and Cantaloupe without a hint of salt. Ever tried it like that? --- ‘ She laughed with him lightly wiping the remaining juice from her lower lip.

Chandler smiled as she went down memory lane in that moment he knew he was going to marry this woman – “Okay” he said grabbing the knife and looking at the fruit. He started with the pineapple and watermelon to get the big fruits out of the way. “Pick you poison” he said waiting for what she wanted him to cut next.

She picked up a piece of fruit that he cut then looked both ways before bringing it to his lips. ‘ taste one of them babe. ‘ She kept the fruit to his lips as she looked at all the options. ‘ Hmm....I love strawberries...so maybe strawberries and cantaloupe next? What do you think? --- ‘

When she asked what he was thinking he knew he’d been caught day dreaming. A blush appeared on his cheeks as he spoke “Um, I-I don’t know, it’s just like… okay you know those moments you just know you’re going to remember for the rest of your life? I think we just got that.” Chandler said against her lips running a thumb over her chin. He followed her to the fruit section with a goofy grin on his face.

She lightly brushed her fingers against his flushed pink cheeks smiling. She nodded knowing exactly what he meant. ‘ Uh huh...I know what you mean. ‘ She started with a light chuckle. ‘ I had that moment the second we met...I know it would just be something I would remember always. Then came the moment we became official...then when we were intimate...and the moment I told you I loved you. ‘ She blushed herself before taking a breath looking at the fresh fruits they could cut and take for their own. ‘ Okay....so this is how this works...they pre cut the fruit...and we slice and package how we want, then pay by weight. ‘ She shifted slightly so she could stand on one crutch, then eventually sat the two of them on the side, putting her weight on the counter. ‘ Show me your skills babe. --- ‘

Chandler looked at the picture with a fond smile as they walking through the automatic doors. “Hmm What?” Chandler asked looking up with a lost look on his face as he put his phone away. He caught the last part of her sentence and just nodded “I want to do everything today” Chandler kissed her lips in response he’d never been one for PDA until he met Aubrey.

Looking back at him, that lost expression on his face made her smile. What was he thinking in that moment? She often wondered what he thought about. Normally she wouldn’t ask, but today was special. She wanted to know everything he was thinking and feeling if it were possible. ‘ What were you thinking about just now? ‘ She smiled kissing him back lightly. Once he pulled away she shook her head leaning back in for another sweet kiss. ‘ Then let’s go cut our own fruit..this way. --- ‘ She whispered against his lips motioning to the right side of the market.

Chandler didn’t know how to feel about the airport story anymore it sounded like an awful experience how she could laugh about it now was a shock to him. he grabbed her crutches for her as she spoke. “Yeah of course we can” Chandler laughed closing the car door and locked it before pulling out his cell phone. “I’m not much of a selfie taker bare with me” he said extending his arm in front of them and smiling brightly. When they got inside Chandler was like a kid in a candy store. “Where to first? fruit or drinks?”

She grabbed onto the crutches, stabling herself slightly. ‘ Yay! We have to take photos for everything we do today, something different each time. So we can remember this years from now. ‘ She grinned leaning in as he pulled out his phone. Watching the photo being taken she clapped lightly. ‘ You did great for this first selfie of ours..one down, many many more to go. ‘ She commented walking with him inside. Aubrey paid attention to his reaction seeing him so happy made her heart fill even more with joy. ‘ Um...we can get some fruit...I think this is the market where you cut and prepare your own fruits...want to do that Casper? --- ‘ She pecked his cheek softly.

Chandler sighed in defeat letting her do what she wanted. His eyebrows rose in surprise, that they thought she was a terrorist “That’s… unique.” He laughed “Don’t know many people who could say that’s happened“ Chandler stopped for a second to look Aubrey over “I’m the luckiest guy ever” was all he could think to say. He closed her door and got in the drivers seat. Chandler rolled down the windows turned on the radio loud enough that he could still here Aubrey over it and drove out of the parking lot. He drove with a smile on his face one hand on the wheel and the other on Aubrey’s thigh. He drove to the nearest super market and opened her door for her again with a bright smile.

As he let it go she smiled, she could only say no so many times...if he asked once more...she would break for sure. ‘ I will tell you...it was an awkward experience...I had to get pat down...I had to get...well...a female TSA officer had to basically finger me to make sure no foreign objects were in my body. It was horrible. I mean I can laugh now...but beforeI never wanted to fly again. ‘ She caught him as he looked over at her in awe...his words made her blush. As they drove off she leaned her head back letting the wind wash over her face. She was so content. She moved her hand into his,lacing them as he drove...she could get used to this. As they arrived, she waited then slipped out with his help. ‘ Our first time shopping together...we should take a picture...can we take a picture? --- ‘

“You can use the regular cart as a walker then.Think about your arms” he offered again slightly worried she would overwork herself for his sake. “Like what?” he asked curious about her airport tales. Chandler hesitantly crossed the border for the second time today and smiled widely. By the time he saw the car he had is childish excitement under control “Sleek” he said impressed by the car, he opened the passenger door for her and the back seat door for her crutches. “I think I should be fine, I used to speed a lot but I got precious cargo today.” He added a wink before offering his hand for stability so she could go in by herself.

‘ No, just the crutches...my arms will be sore, I know...but I want to do this. I can do this...I promise. ‘ She assured him with a peck on his cheek. ‘ I don’t want anything to bring this down for you. ‘ She smiled biting her lip thinking of her worst instance. ‘ Well, there was the time they thought I was a terrorist because of something that was said...they thought I said it and it went downhill from there. I have free flights from the airline whenever I want as an outcome! ‘ She laughed. Walking to the car she smiled. ‘ I like to think I have good taste. ‘ She remarked back. ‘ Aww....I trust you with my life...so either way I’m content. ‘ She grinned taking his hand scooting up into her crossover putting her seatbelt on. ‘ All good Casper...how does it feel to be outside! --- ‘

He smiled when she said she wanted to stay on her feet today.“When we get to the store you can use the motorized shopping cart.” Chandler offered.”There aren’t any new driving laws right? Like we haven’t switched to the left side of the road or anything like that” He joked taking her extended hand and placing a kiss on her cheek. Once outside he thought of her question “I don’t know the plane ride to LA and the mission to get through LAX. it wasn’t too different from New York but it was special to anything I’ve ever experienced” He said dropping her hand so she could grab her crutches and walk to the elevator. “Where is you car parked?” he asked inside the elevator excited to get behind the wheel again.

‘ Nope, no cart...I want to walk the entire time when I have to. No carts, no wheelchairs...just me, you, my feet, and my crutches. ‘ She confirmed smiling. It would be a hard task...but she wanted to take it on. ‘ Nope, no new driving laws..well except no texting and driving, no having the phone in your hands...it has to be on an earpiece or something. Other than that...everything is the same...you might want to get your ID renewed or something. Or just be a very very careful driver. ‘ She giggled. She smiled as he helped her to the elevator listening to his story all the way. ‘ Yeah! I know exactly what you mean...maybe for me getting through airports are always an experience...something always goes wrong, never fails. ‘ She laughed. ‘ I’m this Nissan Murano on the corner...the black one. ‘ She took a second to grab out her keys, handing it to him.
