people who think jess is the true one for rory are wrong and its a red flag. rewatching gg and honestly he can fuck off - his weird apperance in season 6 is so pathetic, grow up dude.

do you think Rory would have gone back to Yale without jess? Yes, coming back and basically asking for her love is pathetic, but Logan. Oh Logan, you're next level. The coffee cart thing? Going to her MOTHER to beg for her help in getting Rory back? Using 'I love you' to get Rory to date him again? No hate tho i feel like literati and rogan will always fight, only reason why they shouldn't do a gg revival.

i do think she would've went back to yale without jess. with this whole paul anker thing in the same episode (or maybe the episode before the jess one i don't remember rn) lorelai gave me the feeling that she was going to try to talk to rory again, and maybe that would've been a good talk. or if it wouldn't have been a good talk and rory would've ran back to her grandparents, richard would've talked to her too. or she wouldve gone to lane and she wouldve talked.

i also think the fight between rory and logan at the restaurant dinner with jess would've happened without jess, probs not at a restaurant but logan was tense before jess appeared and rory being rory i think the fight would've had roughly the same topic and more or less the same outcome. especially if the talk with lorelai was before the logan fight.

i think what irckes me the most with that jess appearance is that it's unnecessary in the way that rory has people. right there so many people that could've talked to her, why did it have to be him?

why not a luke or a sookie or a paris or a doyle or a michel? or backround characters that would've had one important moment? that happens so often in tv series. why jess?

does that not scream that Rory and jess are meant for each other? That he was the only one who could truly reach her? Because, as we know, Lorelai tried. Richard was pissed af, but never would have said anything because he loves and "respects" his granddaughter too much, and shows this by giving her the personal space lorelai never got. Lane. Lane doesn't play an important enough part in Rory's life. They may be bsfs, but Rory doesnt really respect or listen to lane. She may have started a chain reaction, but someone else would always have had to push her over the edge. And really, that person, in my opinion, would always be jess, even if they were just platonic. Anyways, interesting to hear another persons p.o.v <3

not to me, sorry. i think the broader context is important for this; we can see rory not being completely happy with her life, we see a logan who is not happy with his life, which is a life she wants. it was bound to happen that they fight over this. and rory being rory she wouldve used her brain after the emotions cooled down a bit... alas same outcome, zero jess.

also, rory was hurt and scared when she left yale. she didn't have her mothers (honestly the most important person in her life) support which was new, and the whole fight was fucking massive between them. time went by, things cooled down. they talk again but this time its not "mom i'm quitting yale" "no youre not or im not talking to you anymore" kinda conversation, its a talk because now the situation is different.

i concede in the richard aspect - him saying something is probs a reach. but with lane i stand by, as lane got more and more her own story she and rory seemed to loose each other but rory would've listened and most likely would've done a typical rory: be mad, think about it, calm down and then talk.

i think maybe a funny conversation with kirk, completely off topic but then he says one thing and that somehow fits to her situation and yeah, that would've better, for me. at least that would've been funny.
