Francine Van Hove (1942-2025) — The Sphinxes and the Dictionary [oil on canvas, 1985]
Wishing financial freedom, good sex, laughter and perfectly seasoned food for everyone reading this
i’m gonna say something that doesn’t feel good but you might need to hear it: bending over backwards being a people-pleaser, being conflict averse and not telling anyone your needs, and then being resentful and upset when your needs aren’t met is a You problem first
not related but also just good advice: when you’re lowkey frustrated with someone and can’t quite figure out why their behavior is bothering you, i highly recommend examining if they have broken an imaginary rule or standard that you hold yourself to
Tree House, 2025. A closer look at one of the new illustrations I made for my art book Faraway Dreaming, published earlier this year by Atthis Arts. I used mixed media for all the illustrations in the book, combining traditional ink drawing and digital coloring.
Your kindness makes a difference. Reaching out to someone, helping a stranger on their way, holding a door for someone, buying something because you know your friend will like it, giving compliments, sending sweet asks/messages/texts to someone and the like, it all makes a positive difference. Your kindness makes a difference and people remember your kind words and actions long after you have forgotten them. Your kindness matters. Thank you. 🌸
keep liking my posts and we gonna end up in a mossy forest picking out cool rocks together
“I spent my childhood learning how to fear, and now I spend my adulthood learning how not to.”
— Gemma Troy
“Just because you can feel another person’s emotions doesn’t make you responsible for them.”
— Sarah Brooke
Let’s go on vacation to eat a ton of good food and have hot hotel sex
One thing i have learnt in life, if you have something precious, which you love more than your life, keep it away from the world, keep it a secret.
You don't have to force yourself to bounce back so quickly. I read something recently that said "when you come in from a rainstorm, you don't expect yourself to be dry and warm right away", and it really resonated with me. It's okay to take time to dry off and warm up. Take the time you need to process what happened to you.
i need my space unless youre the right person then dont go anywhere
