“A mother of three, eh?” He asked with a smile. “Three kids, you could probably use that extra sugar boost in the morning.” August commented, knowing from the times he took care of his niece and nephew that kids could be quite the handful especially in the mornings. “What are your kids names?”

“Oh, just wait, I’ll show you up in no time.” Julien grinned, confirming his own choice and leaned back into the couch. The blond had been pretty decent the first couple of times he’d played so maybe he’d do better than August. “Oh, definitely high stakes first.”

“Yeah, yeah.” August said letting the other pick the rest of what they needed to play the game, it didn’t matter much to him which track they used cause there was a good chance he’d do the same on them all. “Jumping right into to, I like it.”

“A ‘hi stranger drink’, that I can do. Shots, ‘right, how about you pick the shot? I’m not too picky when it comes to alcohol but I usually just shot whiskey - not sure if that’s your thing.” August said, assuming the two shots were for the both of them and he didn’t wanna order something the younger man would hate.

Aubrey and his group of friends always tended to get rowdy when they were at the bar together, but how could they not be? The place was a pub, yeah, but to them it was apart. They were a group of rowdy young adults who tended to drink just a little too much. But that’s what bars were for, right? After he’d bumped into August, he noticed the bottles and felt a little bad. He could have caused a mess. “You should have a bucket for those to tote around, that way dumbasses like me can’t bump into you and make them fall outta your hand.”

August gave a nod of agreement. “Believe it or not, I have one behind the bar but since it was only a few bottles figured I wouldn’t need it. Which I didn’t, I haven’t dropped them yet.” He said leaning forward to place the bottles onto the counter before someone did knock them out his hands and he regretted his choice to leave the bottle bucket behind. “Can I get you another drink, by the way, or you taking off too?”

Julien settled back against the couch, lightly bumping his shoulder against August’s with a grin. “Oh, we’ll see about that. I am a pro at this, after all.” Which was far from the truth, although Julien supposed if they didn’t get the rainbow road version he might be okay.

August used his leg to nudge the younger man back. “So you say, but you have yet to prove just how good you are.” He replied hitting the confirm button, waiting for whatever came next on the game. “Should we start out with the strip version and work our way up or just jump right into the high stakes?” He asked.

Julien dropped down onto his couch, reaching out to tug August down with him as he continued to flip through the characters. He finally settled on Yoshi, glancing over at the older man’s question. “Uhm, it’s pretty similar to the Nintendo 64 version, I think. Want me to go easy on you at first until you get the hang of it?” The blond teased.

August made himself comfortable on the couch after picking a character to play as, leaning back as he watched the other scrolled through the options as well. “No, no. I’ll still be able to kick your ass either way, don’t worry about that.” He replied, thinking no matter what the basics of the game were still the same.

The look that Charlie gave August when the man raised an eyebrow at him was one of mock innocence as if he didn’t know what had earned that. “Normal, boring, same thing. I just can’t do the normal way all the time or, imagine, you might get bored of me.” He replied with a wave of the hand, leaning more into August so that he could press a few light, nipping kisses along the man’s jawline. “Especially like this? What, me dragging you home?” Charlie asked, grinning a little at August. He hummed softly and settled back into the seat for the time being, brushing his fingers lightly through the man’s hair now. “Mm, you know, that might have been it, actually.”

“The innocence look doesn’t really suit you, handsome.” August commented with a grin. “But it’s cute.” He added before shaking his head, it wasn’t the first time Charlie thought he would get bored of him but August found it hard to imagine getting tired of the older man. He tilted his head more, exposing more of his neck, a low content hum leaving him as he felt the kisses. “I really don’t think this counts as you dragging me home. And what makes you think I’m going home with you?” August asked, although it this point it seemed pretty clear that he was, at least for little bit. He leaned into the fingers brushing through his hair, this was something he could let happen for hours. “Should I be worried and a little insulted you forgot to ask me out tonight? Or are we blaming the alcohol?”

charlie–brennagan:

“Address is probably important, then.” Charlie replied with a slight laugh, keeping his arm around August as the cab started to pull out of the parking lot. The older man shifted closer, wanting to continue where they’d left off, but not entirely sure if August would be comfortable messing around in a cab. So Charlie just settled on kissing him quickly, relaxing into August at the feeling of the man’s thumb rubbing along his thigh. The question got a snort from him as well as a little, nearly mischievous grin. “Maybe.” He teased back. “No, I’m kidding, I wouldn’t do that. Like you said, more normal ways to get your attention.” Charlie brushed his fingers up and down August’s arm as he talked. “‘Sides, I went there to ask you something, but I don’t really remember what it is now.”

"Just a little." He answered laughing with Charlie. From his current position it was easy to kiss the other, a grin forming on his lips after their quick kiss. August raised a brow seeing the mischievous look on Charlie’s face, he already had a feeling the actor would be a handful and that look just confirmed his thoughts. “I believe you called them ‘boring’ ways earlier. You should know I don’t mind though, especially if it’s like this every time - I mean besides you buggin’ my bartender.” August said tilting his head so it was resting against the man’s shoulder, his hand still rubbing over Charlie’s thigh. “I’m guessing it wasn’t too important then. Unless you wanted to ask me on another date.”
