Matt and Peter were both on the way to Aunt Mays house to visit here, they were going with Peter's car which was obviously driven by Peter at the moment
Throughout halfway of the car ride it was real quiet and awkward between the two, but Matt could tell Peter was just trying to focus on driving. Which he can tell by listening closely to his heartbeats
Matt was the first to break the silence and awkwardness that had been happening for half of their car ride. “Its a little hot, do you mean turning the A/C a bit up?” he said as he shifted a little in his seat, trying to get as comfortable as he can
- @murdockatmidnight
“Oh right, sorry” he quickly adjusts the tempature of the cars A/C whilst still keeping his hand on the steering while and his eyes on the road. When the traffic lights turned red and Peter had to stop, he looked over at Matt who seemed comfortable in his seat.
Peter feels a little bad that he wasn't really chatting with Matt earlier, “Hey uhh- Sorry for not really giving much attention to you earlier, I'm just trying to focus on the road y'know?”
Soon after a few minutes they arrived right Infront of Aunt Mays house, Peter carefully parked his car before turning everything off and looking over at Matt. “We're here.” he said as he slowly got out of the car. Soon the two sat Infront of Aunt Mays doorstep and rang the doorbell, waiting for her to answer
She opened the door with a bright smile, beckoning the two inside while dusting flour off of her favorite patterned dress.
"Well don't you two look dapper! Come in, come in."
( @murdockatmidnight )
“Hello! Yes, I try to look my best all the time.” He adjusted his suits coat a little before speaking up again, “It's nice to finally see you Mrs. May! I mean, May. sorry it just slipped out by accident.” they both got inside the house and Matt offered a hand for Aunt May to shake, giving her a warm welcoming smile.
After they shaked hands, Matt took a moment to smell the scent of the cozy home. “This must be where Peter was raised right? His childhood home?” he asked, taking off his suits coat and hanging it on a nearby rack
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"Oh it's alright dear,"
May chuckled despite herself.
"Yes, I've lived here for as long as I can remember, oh the amount of trouble that little Peter got up to when he was young. Yknow I had to hide the scissors because he kept chopping his hair-"
( @webheadunderthebridge )
“Ohh my goddd...-” Peter groaned with annoyance “Dont remind of me that, please. That whole scheme of mine was stupid, real stupid.” He said in a real shameful tone
“And Matt, don't you DARE make fun of me okay??” he pointed at Matt dramatically before crossing his arms together “I just wanted a haircut, a real short boy-like haircut. And I had an idea and a scheme, a real stupid one that I didn't know will be my biggest regrets at the age of 11.”
( @the-best-aunt-may )
she chuckled harder, "Dear could've just given you a shorter haircut if you asked me, but instead I got to see you trying your hand at hairdressing."
May turned to Matt, "oh and you should've seen the back! He cut himself a lovely little bald spot!"
( @murdockatmidnight )
“Oh really? That must've been real huh?” He chuckled with her before looking over and nudging Peter softly “I guess you've been up to trouble since day 1..” he smirked
The two had a banter for a bit before walking over to the living room to sit down with Aunt May. Matt was discussing lawyer stuff when Peter was just looking around the house that had remained the same with a smile, giving him a blast of the past.
Matt was talking about his department and all and was talking about a recent case he's got to work on “Which is crazy because the proof makes us think it's him? But it's not?? It's real confusing and all but otherwise, I think they're both in the wrong y'know? The non-guilty guy is guilty against other charges, and the guilty guy is just guilty.”
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"So really, it's a lose, lose scenario?" May said, walking over with a another batch of piping hot tea.
"Seems like it takes a lot of courage to be a lawyer, gosh knows I could never do it. My life already causes me enough stress."
She carefully poured tea for Matt and Peter. "So I've been meaning to ask, how did you and Peter become friends?"
( @murdockatmidnight )
“Well it's a pretty funny story actually” He took his cup and drank his tea, in an extremely formal way. Peter rolled his eyes at this as joke.
“Well he at first I was his lawyer, because he was looking for one at the time” He looked over at Peter with a smile “And we kind of got along at first? I mean it was pretty awkward because I was just trying to be his lawyer and stuff, and he was pretty awkward. I started joking and all, simple jokes that I usually do at the department. I was practically his lawyer friend soon enough.” He drank more tea
“But for the whole daredevil and Spidey thing? That's a really difficult story to touch on. But in simple words? We kind of had a bad meet, an awful one.”
( @webheadunderthebridge )
“Was it really my fault I didn't assume you were a good guy? You were litreally dressed up as a devil, and your costume? It just gives bad vibes honestly.” He said, grabbing his tea cup in the wrong way and drinking it
“Our first week.. it was, something.” He leaned a little more into the couch, looking over at Matt.
“Those batons were also something, I felt like you were gonna whack me with em at any moment.” He chuckled lightly and smiled at Matt before groaning as he realized a really stupid memory
“Ohhh my godd, remember when I was convinced you were a spy?? You knew my identity and every single bit about me?” He laughed for a while before Matt joined him, Matt added more to the story which made it more funnier.
“But it was really just your super hearing abilities and our friendship..”
The two had a few laughs about past memories of theirs before stopping and continuing to chat with Aunt May
“Oh and Aunt May? You really don't wanna know how I met Wade..” He scratched the back of his neck looking over at Matt with an awkward grin, the other man smirking as he remembered the story
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"Based on that reaction I'm assuming it wasn't a good meeting? You've always been too awkward for your own good Peter." She laughed quietly to herself, "oh, and do fix your hands please, dear, you're going to drop the cup and it's very hot tea."
( @webheadunderthebridge )
Peter chuckled nervously, shifting his grip on the teacup, feeling a little self-conscious as Aunt May's gaze lingered on his hands. He knew she meant well, but it was hard not to feel like a little kid under her watchful eye.
"Yeah, uh... meeting Wade wasn’t exactly... normal," Peter began, casting a glance at Matt, who smirked behind his cup, clearly amused. "I was swinging through the city as usual, on patrol, y’know, normal night, and out of nowhere, this guy with swords and guns—a lot of guns—decides to crash my party."
Matt raised an eyebrow but said nothing, letting Peter continue.
"It wasn’t exactly love at first sight, I mean for him it was?” Peter added with a small laugh, “For me it was more like ‘who is this guy, and why is he blowing up half the street?” He winced at the memory, shaking his head. “But, um, after a lot of... misunderstandings—and explosions—we kind of... got to know each other. Turns out he's... different. Weird, but, I guess, in a good way? Sometimes. It’s complicated.”
Aunt May gave him that knowing look, the kind that only a mother figure could give, and Peter sighed. “I know, I know. Awkward. But he's not as bad as he seems. He’s—well, he’s rough around the edges. He’s been through a lot.”
Matt leaned forward slightly, setting his cup down. "And despite the chaos, Wade has his heart in the right place. He’s helped us out of more than one jam."
Peter nodded. “Yeah, he's... he's unpredictable, but he’s good, May. Just, uh, don't expect him to be normal.”
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"Oh, well he doesn't sound to different from you dear, except the explosions he sets off are intentional, while yours were.... Experiments.." She smiled at the memory, taking a sip of her tea.
"I do trust you to make good decisions when it counts Peter, and as much as I would like to wrap you in bubble wrap I have to let you live out in the world... As long as you stay safe and try your best." May put a kind hand on his shoulder, squeezing it reassuringly, "I know you'll never do wrong."
( @webheadunderthebridge )
Peter's face softened as Aunt May spoke, her words sinking in deeper than she could probably imagine. He smiled, a bit sheepish, glancing down at his lap as she squeezed his shoulder. It was the kind of reassurance he didn't realize he needed.
“Thanks, May,” he murmured, feeling a tightness in his chest. “I try. Sometimes it feels like I’m making it up as I go along, but... I always want to do what's right. Even when it's messy.” He cast a quick look at Matt, who gave him a small nod of understanding.
Peter's voice turned a little quieter, more thoughtful. “Wade, for all his... craziness, he kind of reminds me that doing the right thing doesn't always look the way you expect. He’s all over the place, but underneath it, he’s got a lot of heart. I think that’s what makes it hard sometimes- caring so much, but not knowing how to show it.”
He shrugged, feeling a little vulnerable admitting it out loud, especially in front of Matt and May.
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"Oh Pete, I wish I could tell you that there's an age where you finally know what you're doing.. But there isn't dear." A small frown grew on her face, it wasn't a sad expression exactly, if anything it was full of longing.
"You just have to find people that can be there with you, making the tough choices and trying to understand what to do.. You have to find someone to make life seem a little less daunting."
May dabbed at her eyes with a tissue, "my apologies, I didn't think I'd get emotional today."
"Oh well, that's not important, I'm sure if you asked Matt he'd tell you the same thing, right?"
( @murdockatmidnight )
Matt set his teacup down gently on the table, his hands moving with practiced precision. He tilted his head toward Aunt May, a small, thoughtful smile forming on his face as he listened to her words.
“You're right, May,” Matt replied in his calm, steady voice. “Life doesn’t really come with a manual. Every day, we're just trying to figure it out. The important thing is... not to do it alone.” He paused for a moment, sensing the emotion in her voice, and continued, his tone soft and reassuring. “I've made more mistakes than I can count. But what’s helped me... what’s kept me going... are the people I trust, the ones who stand by me, even when things get difficult.”
He shifted slightly on the couch, turning his attention toward Peter, even though his unseeing eyes didn’t focus on him. “And, Peter, you have people like that too. We might not always have the answers, but we can figure it out together. You don’t have to carry the weight of everything on your own.”
Matt’s expression softened further, almost a quiet reflection. “No one should have to.”
He leaned back slightly, his senses picking up on Aunt May’s soft breaths and the lingering warmth of the room. “And if anyone can understand what it means to fight through uncertainty, it’s you, Peter. You’re not alone in this.”
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"Exactly.. You're a strong man Peter, but you don't have to do this alone." She set down her own cup, "I have to grab the pie from the oven, I'll be right back."
And with that, she carefully walked out of the room, leaving Matt and Peter alone.
( @webheadunderthebridge )
Matt and Peter chatted amongst eachother for a while before aunt May came back with the freshly baked pie and some plates
Peter smelled the aroma, it was delicious and comforting. He has always loved aunt Mays pies “What flavor is the pie?” Peter asked with a huge smile
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"How about you take a guess? It is your favorite I believe." She set the pies and the plates down, patting Peter on the head as she walked by.
“Berry pie? Liek blueberry, strawberry or raspberry??” He said excitedly as he took a good look and scent of the pie, closing his eyes for a bit as he smelled one of his childhood pastries
( @the-best-aunt-may )
"It's raspberry dear, I even made a spider web on top of the crust just for you, I do hope you two like it" she cut out a piece, putting it on everyone's plate before sitting down.
( @webheadunderthebridge )
Peter blinked as Aunt May placed the pie slice in front of him, his eyes lighting up with a mixture of surprise and warmth. He hadn’t even noticed the detail at first, but now that she mentioned it, there it was, a delicate little spider web pattern on the crust. It was just like Aunt May to do something like that, making even a simple dessert feel special.
“Wow, May, you didn’t have to go all out just for me,” Peter said, his voice filled with appreciation. He leaned forward, examining the pie like it was a piece of art. “But... I mean, a spider web on top of raspberry pie? That’s pretty much perfect.”
He glanced over at Matt, a grin tugging at his lips. “Trust me, Matt, you're in for a treat. Aunt May’s pies are legendary. This might be the best part of the day.”
Peter picked up his fork, but before taking a bite, he shot Aunt May a soft, affectionate smile. He took a bite of the pie, the sweet tartness of the raspberries mixing with the buttery crust, and his eyes practically rolled back in his head. “Yep,” he mumbled between bites, “still the best.”
( @murdockatmidnight )
Matt smiled, listening to Peter’s excitement over the pie. The sound of the fork scraping gently against the plate and Peter’s enthusiasm painted a clear picture for him, even if he couldn’t see the intricate design Aunt May had described.
“Well, if Peter says it’s legendary, who am I to argue?” Matt said with a warm chuckle. His hands moved gracefully, finding the fork and the slice of pie in front of him. He took a small bite, the sweet and tart raspberry filling hitting his senses immediately, the buttery crust crumbling perfectly.
“Wow, May,” Matt said after a moment, his face lighting up. “Peter wasn’t exaggerating. This is incredible.”
He set the fork down for a second, turning his head in Aunt May's direction, his voice full of gratitude. “You’ve really outdone yourself. I might not be able to appreciate the spider web on top, but I can definitely taste the care you put into it.” He smiled softly. “Thank you.”
He took another bite, savoring it for a moment before adding, “I don’t think I’ve ever had raspberry pie this good. You might’ve just ruined all other pies for me.”
( @aunt-may-number-one-slay )
"Oh you're too sweet dear, I've had lots of time on my hands to perfect the recipe so I'm glad you two are enjoying it." May smiled, taking a bite of her own piece of the pie.
"I would've cooked more but I've been very busy lately, I hope that's alright! "
Matt smiled, his head tilting slightly as he listened to Aunt May. “Of course, May, that’s more than alright. You don’t have to go out of your way for us. This pie alone is a work of art,and trust me, I’d be here in a heartbeat even if it was just for coffee.”
He took another bite, savoring the flavor. “Though, now I am curious. What’s been keeping you so busy lately? Peter and I have been quite curious what you've been doing in your free time.” He chuckled softly, his tone light but genuinely interested in her answer
( @aunt-may-number-one-slay )
"Oh typical old lady things, knitting, visiting kittens at the shelters, becoming friends with the neighborhood teens and boxing!" She set down her fork, turning to face Matt.
"What about you dear?"
“Just the typical, lawyer work, vigilante work, a bunch of free time.. which I spend mostly hanging out with Peter, Wade and Foggy.”
“If I've got a day off I'd go and spend the entire day with Foggy.. if he also has a day off that is”
( @aunt-may-number-one-slay )
"Oh that's very adorable, you all seem so close! It's lovely to see these days."
"It must be difficult to match up both of your schedules since you both seem so busy, I'm amazed you're able to make time at all with so many thing on your plate."

She's at it again.
Let her have fun, and honestly? That username? I love it. It suits her.
Thank you Peter! I'm glad you like it!
Like it? Aunt May I LOVE it..
And if I'm being honest you don't just slay, you serve so hard.
Heh learned some of these slangs from Wade..
I don't know what most of that means but thank you Pete!
I'm "eating" as the kids say.
Serve basically means your serving good looks and attitude
Eating? Ohh like ate and stuff, Wade said it's basically like.. the person ate the whole plate? Like they cleared it cuz they're so good? I'm not sure what that means but it sounds like a huge compliment. I guess (?)
It's very difficult to keep up with all the slang going around!
I'm very glad you think I'm "serving" Peter, I think you are "serving" as well!
Wade said I serve.. nerdy bottom. I mean- I don't.. I don't know what he means but he said its something sexual related? I don't know. Wade and his stupid slangs and innuendos confuse me..
Oh dear! That's certainly a description!
I don't know but I feel really embarrassed and shameful whenever he calls me stuff like that, like I just wanna defend myself like a stupid school girl
It sounds like you're "cooked" Pete.
That's okay though, it's a good thing!
Oooo I don't know what that one is but it sounds.. bad(?)
I'll be sure to ask Wade what it means
One of the teens that come for tea taught me it!

“Oh right, sorry” he quickly adjusts the tempature of the cars A/C whilst still keeping his hand on the steering while and his eyes on the road. When the traffic lights turned red and Peter had to stop, he looked over at Matt who seemed comfortable in his seat.

After they shaked hands, Matt took a moment to smell the scent of the cozy home. “This must be where Peter was raised right? His childhood home?” he asked, taking off his suits coat and hanging it on a nearby rack
