Thank you! I just use Photoshop CC for everything. I've had good luck with it, but I know of people who also do a lot of dedicated line work and can't deal with it (they usually swear by Manga Studio). Really though the way I draw is so straight forward I think it would translate to most programs pretty effortlessly

I really like your art. It's got a very interesting and unique feel. Do you draw your own comics?

Thanks! Making comics is for sure some kind of inevitability for me. At least if I don't fall too hard ass-backwards into the not good enough at drawing yet let's just give it some more time trap. The logistics of making a comic page are just a lot more interesting to me than more traditional illustration. And if it's not super obvious from most of my drawings, making a single image compelling isn't exactly my strong suit yet haha

Actually fun fact about this blog - I originally made it to host a one-shot pokemon fan comic I decided had to exist for whatever reason. It was just a quick little story starring Serena that I still think is pretty cute. I even got a few pages into it, but I guess I decided tumblr wasn't the best platform for something of that length. So I scrapped it and reused bits in other drawings. Maybe if it seems like I'm actually any better at drawing by the time the ending to XY&Z rolls around, I'll revisit it

Out of curiosity how old is your mac? I've been thinking of giving manga studio a go whenever the heck my adobe subscription is finally up, but it'd be a shame if it ends up running like garbage

I got my Mac in summer of 2012 so it’s had some wear and tear, it may just be me. But since it costs like 40 bucks I’d be safe and check to make sure your Mac can handle it because it flat out does not work for me. Like I can open it and all the features work fine, but when it comes to the most basic thing like using the pen tool it’s unusable, the horrendous lag makes it impossible for me to draw on it and it’s such a disappointment (even when I played with the options to get the lag to ease up it didn’t work). Like I said this could just be my computer being a piece of shit, it wouldn’t surprise me, but still, I’d just double check to make sure if your set up can handle it before diving in.

Yeah thanks I will, thats just about the same age as mine. Brush lag is pretty much the one thing I can't power through at all, wacom drivers have ruined my day that way more than once haha

Thanks!! Kinda sorta – fact is I’ll only ever draw what I feel like on here. As long as there are no hard feelings if I ignore requests I don’t personally find super interesting (and also that I’ll be crazy slow getting to ones I do like), anybody can suggest whatever they like!
