AUREUS COLEOPTERA.
Chapter 1: That Hurt, Mildly.
Work was going perfectly fine up until he felt this acute pain in his wrist. “Gah—what the—??” Roger couldn’t exactly describe what it was he just felt. Aside from the fact it was painful. He pulled away from something he had been needing to fix up to shake out his hand rapidly. After a few seconds, he heard the beating of small, insect wings beginning to drift away from him. He went still.
To be honest, he hadn’t assumed much of that sensation—the feeling of a bug’s legs crawling around on his skin—until he felt that pinch. That deep, deep pinch. It hurt, god, it hurt. He had no idea that one was gonna bite him—and for what? He didn’t think he was doing much of anything to provoke it. Not enough for it to…
He let out a huff. “Good grief.” Roger’s other hand came up to pull up his right arm sleeve. When he felt the open air brush against the skin of where he could sense the injury, he tapped two of his fingers against the spot. Ohh. He hadn’t been expecting blood. The thick liquid tainted his fingertips. He could feel multiple puncture wounds, way more than he expected. What even was it that bit him, actually? Certainly not something he could name right off of the bat.
Ah, well. He honestly didn’t have a lot of time to worry about it. He had work to do. He hummed, dismissively, rolled his sleeve back down and walked away from his current task. Though, he could at least patch up the wound. Make sure he didn’t just openly bleed—now that’d be a problem. Other than that, though, he assumed he’d be fine. What’s the harm?
It was just a bug.
