by the way im definitely still around i Promise. my muse for goldie hasn't gone anywhere, i'm just mostly exercising it in small fic stuff for the most part. i've just been going through a Lot with this move and the mental process of accepting that the home i lived in my entire life Isnt home anymore.

i'm definitely checking dash every now and again, i've just been shyer than usual because of all that happening. im real sorry if it seems like im ignoring people for other writing opportunities (or ignoring our existing threads). not a lot of spoons lately.

it's a crime that he can't eat as many cheese tarts as he wants, because unfortunately for him, colonel loser and major killjoy hahn have him on a meal plan that actually centers around meals. parental figures are the worst things ever to happen to him, he thinks. not as if his mom would have ever let him do that much anyways. momma would've made sure he was sticking his hands in fruit bowls instead of a bakery basket. that poor vineyard. all their grapes went straight into his mouth.

i maaaay write a little thing about how goldie handled liore at some point because it definitely … was noticeably different from canon. primarily in the religious themes.

goldie’s generally a lot more respectful of religion just because he’s more in-tune with the spiritualistic aspects of alchemy, but liore made him mad because, due to the nature of what xerxes and aghlakal were, their shared mythologies actually had the stories about leto. and since that mythos had been lost - he only knew it because of the books in his dad’s study, which actually archived a lot of hohenheim’s knowledge from his time - he kind of burst out in frustration about how wrong the foundation of letoism was.

he’s a very “if you’re going to worship something i don’t care; just make sure that you know what you’re actually worshipping” kinda guy. he wants people to be free to do what they want, just… not when they’re being used for a greater plan overall.

#here we go. religion thing #i’m still a ways away from writing a full post abt it but this is a huge part of why goldie is not like a canon ed #he IS a god. he is the reincarnation of the Sun. Like In The Sky. he is also a defacto god of life and time #he does not KNOW it for that portion of his journey but it exists within him and those past lives keep guiding him #so ‘planted’ religions like letoism really bother him because his past lives lived through the creations of theological tales #his soul knows their value and where they stem from #he’s very complicated about it because alchemy is a very spiritual practice when it comes down to it but he rarely says it out loud

nothin in particular has happened but i think it's worth saying because it's been a hot minute since i mentioned it last:

if you have been following me for a long while (like 2021), i highly recommend re-reading my rules as i have changed things multiple times over the years.

if you haven't been following me for long, i STILL recommend checking my rules proper once again because there have occasionally been moments where people skip over the fact i am mutuals only. there have also been moments where people completely skip over my one absolutely non-negotiable boundary at the very end of my interactions section.

i do not mean to discourage nonmutuals from sending stuff because occasionally i just miss the fact they ever followed - but after spending as many years as i have in tumblr rpcs, it's just what i'm most comfortable with. writing is something very personal to me and i tend to only have mutuals with people i think i can mesh well with.

it's nothing against anyone ! this is moreso just to keep people informed and to let others know why i might take some actions (such as blocking, soft-blocking, or not following back!)
