Aurora rolled her eyes at the mention of sarcasm, deciding to ignore the fact that she was responding with her own.

She opened her mouth to speak before her eyes caught something, or more like someone as her eyes followed the girl, who seemed about their age, before Aurora blinks, as if realising that she was currents busy with Zara.

"Yes riddles, say its for children, whatever..I don't really know how your old school works but you're here now so that's just how it works here, either get used to it or fall behind and I'm sure you'll get used to it"

Her tone seemed a bit sharper than before, less relaxed compared to when she was joking around, brushing off Zara's comments of her joke. It was like her brightness had been dimmed for some inexplicable reason

"Professor Flitwick said that you have the same classes as me so I think we should get going, no point of hanging around. It's not as if exams will wait for us"

Mumbles escaped her lips as she stood up, brushing off her robes as she checked her pocket for her wand.

It seemed as if Aurora's hair bounced with her as she stood, curls flowing across her face as she grabbed some books and handed them towards Zara, a peace offering of some sorts. It was if the witch didn't want to argue or bicker at this particular moment.

"We have potions next and it's down in the dungeons so we should get going now, I don't particularly want to lose us house points on your first real day and have the house hate you, not the best first impression"

"No, you wouldn't know how my old school works," Zara bit back. "You can't begin to imagine how Durmstrang handled things. It was built for the strong. Not children. Even the fucking eleven year olds had extremely high expectations. Just like the seventh years. But you wouldn't know anything about that," she snapped. Any kind of disrespect toward where she came from wouldn't be tolerated especially from someone she didn't know. Fuck. That. "Bulgaria is not for the weak of heart."

Aurora was obviously irritated by Zara. Good. In no way did she want to be in the other witch's good graces. She couldn't give two shits. In fact, Zara didn't care if she created ties to anyone in her final year. Who at Hogwarts would be worth her time? Her time was precious. At the very least she could at least find some people to fuck and leave it at that but that was assuming there was anyone attractive enough.

"Flitwick? What kind of name is that?" Zara shook her head. "Of course we have the same schedule." She rolled her eyes and sighed deeply. How was she going to get rid of the redhead?

When Aurora gave her the books, Zara glanced at them. Books. She loved books. At least they were something to look forward to. Hopefully they were of good quality and not telling her things she already knew. She put the books to her chest and actually responded without snapping. "Thank you," and nodded.

"Dungeons. At least that sounds promising. But I assure you, I don't care what the house thinks of me."

Aurora looked at the book, it seemed worn, definitely well loved, almost like it has been passed around through different years.

"I know...that you don't like it here"

She explained slowly as she started walking, making her way down from the highest point of the tower towards the dungeons where potions was held, Aurora could finally relax, she did love her lessons with Professor Slughorn, even if he was a bit strange.

"And I'm not saying you have to. But to make things a bit easier, which I'm sure you'll deny, the book has a map in it, it outlines all the fastest shortcuts, I've learnt them all, added a few of my own so...its yours now"

She spoke softly, as if not wanting her words to be overheard by the swarms of students around them before leading Zara to a more secretive looking place, it was an empty hallway, strange how fast their surroundings went from loud and almost frantic with students to utter ease and serenity.

As the witch walked, falling silent as her eyes followed along the hallway, saying soft greetings to some of the portraits that appeared and spoke to them, she was busy with her hands, lying her long, unruly curled hair into a bun, using her Rowan wand to pin it up. It didn't look comfortable but definitely useful. The pale brown of the wood did stand out between the ginger and white streaks that wrapped around the strands.

After a couple more stairs, some weaving through more unoccupied corridors, Aurora stepped through a portrait, landing the two of them near their potions classroom.

"Fair warning though...if you don't like the school already...I can't wait for you to meet Slughorn"

She spoke with a playful and knowing quirk to her smile.

The redhead couldn't help but feel her lips quirk back at the brunettes words.

At least she seemed to have some sort of backbone, Aurora has seen such people shirk back from answering things when new to this type of environment.

"Awe you think I'm pretty huh? Shame I can't return the sentiment"

Her words weren't nice but it didn't seem as if she was trying to put up an overtly nice front with Zara.

"But fine, whatever, keep to yourself if that's what you want. The girls dorm is up the stairs to the left cause Merlin forbid girls ever be right"

Her lips remained in a smile as she spoke the last words, as if remembering an inside joke before her eyes flickered back to Zara.

While watching how the girl leaned forward, Aurora took the opposite route, leaning back into the overtly comfortable couches. They seemed the type that could be described as well loved, worn in by an absurb amount of students cramming for exams, huddled up in groups with whispers passed around.

"The door...you have to answer a riddle to open it, riddle changes every day but there is no set password so keep your mind sharp but if you're enough to be in Ravenclaw, I'm sure you'll manage"

Aurora seemed to be more casual now, more at ease after hearing something from Zara. The witch felt more comfortable now that it didn't feel like she was conversing with a brick wall.

"You obviously don't know what sarcasm is. It was just a phrase which you obviously have not heard." Zara didn't find Aurora attractive in the least. The girl was a mess. Her hair was everywhere, her skin was discolored in the worst way. She looked weak. Weakness was something Zara didn't approve of. Yet another reason to dislike Aurora off the bat.

"You're also blind. I can get anyone I want." It was a fact. Being a vampire gave her a certain suave. It gave her a sensuality that couldn't be denied. She wasn't a veela but vampires were close enough to have power over other people when she so chose. It was something Zara loved about herself.

She did crack a small smile at Aurora's joke about women not being right. She didn't laugh but she found it a small bit amusing. Unfortunately the other witch was too proud of the comment. "Prideful of that joke are you?" Zara replied.

"Riddles? You've got to be fucking kidding me. Riddles are for children. I don't know about you but I'm not a child. At least you're right about me not having an issue with it," she replied knowing how her mind worked.

Zara couldn't believe the mess she was being forced to live in. The rest of the castle had to have been garbage as well.
