Aurora Juniper Willows, known for being a bit flighty, a bit wild, and a bit hippy dippy, was also known for being kind. But what she was known for was no longer the person she was sure she was anymore. So when her eyes became caught up with a one Sophia Park after a couple of drinks at Aero, instead of just going about her life, she decided to make her way over to the woman who she hadn’t seen in town in quite some time. “Well--if it isn’t perfect little miss Sophia Park, what brings you back to town hmm?” She lifted her drink up to her lips. Sophia was a woman that had it all. Rori was decidedly jealous of Sophia, and a part of her always had been. But these days, Rori didn’t have the capacity to hide from that truth.

Andrew let a charming smirk come along his features. “Rori,” he extended a hand out towards her. “It’s nice to meet you.” His fingers clenching along the strap of his bag as he lifted his eyes up to look past her before drifting his attention back towards her. “You’ll have to take me to the best place because I still have no idea what is considered the hot spot of Williamburg.” He mused as he gestured for her to start walking to let her know that he would follow her. “Do you usually go on bad dates?” He teased. “I could see the boredom in your eyes… You were just screaming for someone to help you.”

Rori met his smirk with one of her own. Meetings such as these were truly her favorite, and having no idea where the evening might lead the two of them, Rori found an excitement brewing inside her. “It’s nice to meet you too.” The woman shrugged with a soft chuckle, "I’m more of a Fallbrook girl through and through and around these parts I usually take my drinks at the Pink Pussycat, but if you’re not into that, we can always try the winery.” She decided to leave the decision up to him, ever curious which of the two scenes he’d choose. Her head whipped around, offering him a side eye with a chuckle to boot, “Well I am glad to know that my eyes spoke so loudly. Thanks for listening.” Her fingers drummed along the side of her phone as she began walking towards the parking lot, slightly ahead of him, “But no--I don’t really go on dates. This was rare form for me--and suddenly I’m remembering why I don’t normally go on them.”

Altan had certain requirements to like a person. He didn’t care what anyone else thought about him since money spoke louder than any arrogance in him, but he determined early on that Aurora Willows met none of the defining characteristics of someone he would willingly spend more then fifteen minutes with. There didn’t seem to be any regulations in her abnormally large family, no expectation of success or behavior, and when he thought of the Willows he pictured a group of wacky wanderers frolicking through a field. His hand smoothed up the side of his face as he massaged his temple, a gesture she brought out of him much too often. “And that’s why you need my help? You can’t call one of your siblings for a ride?”

“Listen, I didn’t steal anything from this guy alright--it was one of the other strippers. But he still thinks that it was me. And look at him--look at him--” She popped up slightly from the juke box she was attempting to hide behind. “Uh--why would I call them when you are right here and can take me home.” She deadpanned towards him, as if it were the most obvious idea in the world. Atlan wasn’t her first choice to get her out of this particular mess, but he was the first one who she’d been able to ask this of. She was pretty sure that temple of his could use a serious massage regardless of the predicament she’d presented him with, but no time to dwell. “C’mon man--I’ll buy you drinks or beers or whatever you want alright. I just--this guy--he’s got a temper. I wouldn’t be askin’ if I didn’t need it.”

“Do you think that cats can read? I mean I know I know I know, that’s a stupid question but I just keep thinking about like, when he sees his picture what’s he going to think it means?” Rori had gotten wind from the shelter that there was a missing kitty and without hesitation she was making posters to hang around town in case anyone had seen Bubbles. She just hoped that Bubbles was happy wherever he was, even if that wasn’t the shelter.

Oh my god Lyds, I am so tired of it like, this time I am going to swear off men and relationships for real now. And that’s the thing like, he wasn’t even something I had been banking on forever or anything like that. I just thought you know, I thought one day it would be us--that we would make it.” Her head shook softly. They never wanted her at the end of the day though. There was always someone who made more sense to settle down with than her. And maybe that was her lease in life, she couldn’t settle. She was really going to try and accept that for what it was now. “Anyway, enough about my stupid boy problems. How are things with you?”

The bell rang over the entrance to Sweet Tooth to alert her presence in the bakery. She cocked her head to side to look at the display case but quickly became distracted by the beauty behind the counter who she’d never seen before. Rori couldn’t help but get caught up in how gorgeous she was, baking sweets for all the Fall Brookians alike. It was then that the woman noticed her, maybe even noticed her staring, and Rori realized she needed to actually move out of the doorway. “Oh hi--I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in town? Are you new here?”

“Another day, another disaster with a man Aksal. And what’s a girl to do but drink all the pain away and smoke some weed in the bright beautiful sunshine of summer’s arrival?” At least summer brought tourists, ones that she could escape her pain with. And at least she still had Marcos to mess around with when she was truly in need. That escapade seemed to be panning out perfectly for now but it was only a matter of time. “I love this time of year, so green and lush. And the town just buzzes with excitement.” It was definitely the weed talking much more so than anything else because underneath her sunshiny vibes was a sort of pain that only grew with every man that walked out on her.

“Alright, alright, alright, one shot if the next person that walks through the door is someone we know, two if we don’t.” Her hands patted the bar top in a sort of rhythm as she eyed the door for a moment before turning back towards him. Ben texted letting her know he needed a drink and as luck would have it, she was just in that exact same mood. She knew better than to ask Ben questions though, knowing that if he had something to say he’d say it. And she could talk his ear off about her latest failed relationship, if she could even call it that, but avoiding it and drowning in her sorrows just sounded so much better.

Jason held onto the strap of his bag, glancing over towards the man as he raised his index finger in his direction. “Hey, mate. Mind if I nab her from ya? It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen her and I’m dying to catch up.” He said, keeping his gaze on the man and waited until he caved under the pressure and walked away from the both of them. “Rori?” He asked, fully knowing her name because it was definitely something he would remember only a few minutes later. “I’m Andrew.” He raised his other hand up, extending it out towards her. “It’s really nice to meet you.” He smirked. “Mind if I take you out for a drink? The least I can do is buy you a drink for having to deal with that the whole game.”

Rori was already intrigued with the way that he just commanded the situation. She liked a man who knew what he wanted and how to get it done. There had always been certain intrigue when it came to athletes in general for this exact reason. "Rori." She nodded, affirming his question. "Andrew." She let the name fall off her tongue. Speaking of taking control, he'd already decided that he wanted to take her out for a drink which was welcomed. He was new. There was so much yet to learn about him, and none of her past had to be dragged into this moment. Fate had led her to the game today and towards a drink with him which was rather fascinating for a woman who believed so strongly in the fates. "Well maybe I had to go through that just so I could meet you for this drink, so yes you may." Rori never spoke so properly, however something about his English accent just drew it out of her.

PAST

Aurora (Rori) Juniper Willows was born on August 11th, 1990. A leo baby if there ever was going to be one. The stars aligned on that blistering summer day for Aurora to land, not with her biological mother who ended up leaving her at a hospital with not even so much as a note, but with that of the wonderful Willows family. Growing up, Aurora wanted for nothing, finding the breeze catching each blade of grass one by one in a field of wheat to satisfy her every whim. And soon with that came this need to paint and draw everything in sight, though nothing could compare to the real thing, she did all that she could to capture the feeling onto a once blank canvas. Being homeschooled on their family farm allowed her to follow through on her whims with very little defiance. Having all of this freedom allowed Aurora to grow within her art and develop a wandering and whimsical soul which she greatly cherishes. She often likes to joke that she is a witch though, she only means that in ways where she feels deeply connected to the earth and nature around her. When she was 6, her father got Aurora her very own kitten. A formative day in Aurora's life for she has never once looked back on her deep affinity for the nature and wonder of cats.

When she was told that she was adopted on her tenth birthday, Aurora did not fully understand what that meant though she knew it was something that was decidedly somewhat more serious than the rest of her life had been up until that point. It nagged and gnawed at her through her teenage years even though she knows who her real family and parents are. She is incredibly grateful to them for giving her the amazing and beautiful life that she has but it is always still there, floating around her like a moon beam that she could only hope to hold in hand one day. That is, if she got up the courage to actually take the time to figure out who her birth parents might be. Growing up on the family farm was wonderful but she certainly delighted in the moments when she would get to go into town as well. Selling at the Farmer's Market and observing all there was to see beyond their home had always been a treasured moment of hers and she quickly became a regular at the Farmer's Market each weekend. One of those weekends when she was 22, a man came up to her offering his card as he was modeling agent hoping to have discovered his next great muse. And Aurora, unable to curb the enthusiasm over the idea of embarking on her next great adventure didn't waste much time before making a call.

While modeling was never a career path Aurora could've ever imagined for herself, there was something about a more structured life that she'd always been drawn to. Though she could never see herself giving up her connections with animals, nature, and the stars, a part of her did want to see how the other half lived. It was also surprisingly fulfilling to be able to earn a living for herself. As soon as she had enough money she moved out of her parents house, she found an apartment downtown. When she is not on a job, Aurora can most often be found, selling food at the Farmer's Market, delivering food to different restaurants and markets downtown, playing with kitties and volunteering at the local animal shelter, She's also been known to be quite the partier as she's always down for a good time. Substances are no stranger to her as altering the mind can lead to her most creative whims which she will always act on. After all, what's life without all that fun? The wind always seems to blow her towards her next great adventure.

PRESENT

Recently, Aurora’s normally up beat and life loving attitude has taken some hits. The Annual Fireman’s Ball was a traumatizing experience for the woman that she never managed to fully deal with. The woman has been drinking quite a bit more these days, throwing caution entirely to the wind. She’s been able to hide it for the most part from those close to her, her partying ways not being anything new to them as it was. This trauma was then added to with the earthquake that struck Fallbrook in the summer of 2021. A building collapsed on her when the ferris wheel she was on was thrust into it. While the woman has recovered physically, some of the light in her eyes seemed to have dimmed quite substantially. Aurora is working through all of this while also trying to figure out where life is going to take her next. Jobless and aimless, she’s hoping that her path in life will reveal itself soon enough. Because she isn’t sure how much longer she can keep herself grounded.

Marcos shifted the pool stick towards the side, letting it rest up against the table next to him when she moved to flush up against him. He glanced down to look at her finger against his chest as he swallowed, brushing his tongue along his lower lip. He hadn’t really had sex since he realized how he felt about Abigail… but since Tia told him he had to pick between them. He wanted that distraction. He was practically desperate for it. He leaned down, brushing the tip of his nose against hers. “Then why don’t you say we get the hell out of here?” He whispered. “What about your place?”

Rori wasn't sure what was going through his head, she was intoxicated enough not to notice much in terms of his subtle gestures. But when he leaned in and touched his nose to hers, that was far less than subtle. And honestly, the fact he'd chosen to meet noses surprised her a bit, feeling a blush hit her cheeks. Rori wasn't easily surprised, but it definitely quieted her whines for anything but this pool game with Marcos. "Took you long enough." She breathed out. "Finally." She threw her head back dramatically as she grabbed his hand and tugged him towards the door.

BASEBALL STATIUM May 15th w/ @aurorahargraves

There was only one reason for moving to Fallbrook and it was his new team. They had drafted him and offered quite a bit of money. Apparently, Mateo had been living in Fallbrook for a while and they had heard about him from the mouth of one of his old teammates. It was the first game of the season and he provided to everyone in Fallbrook that he was meant to be there. After the game, Jason showered, changed, and grabbed his bag draping it over one shoulder as he began to walk out of the stadium, meeting some of the residents but as he raised his eyes to look around. She caught his eye. The guy she had been standing with was trying to get her attention and wondered if she needed some rescuing. He adjusted his bag and walked over towards them, clearing his throat. “Excuse me,” he smiled his charming English smile. “Do I know you from somewhere?” He gave her a little look as if he was asking if she wanted help getting away from this guy.

Mateo had listened to her droning on at the bar about how horrific her luck had been with relationships. Of course, half of that had most certainly been luck of her own making. But Rori honestly couldn't remember if she admitted to that part that night, or if she was just blaming everyone else. Truly it was a toss up. But in any case, Rori had come out of that night with a date with one of Mateo's friends from baseball. And Rori knew she was drunk when she'd agreed to it because somehow she'd agreed to go to a baseball game. However, now that she was getting to know him, Rori found herself suddenly remembering why she was so bad at relationships. The way he was fawning over her after enduring an entire baseball game already had her wishing she was on her couch with her cats. Suddenly, another player had appeared beside them, seemingly offering him an out with a delicious little accent to boot. "Ah--oh yeah wait--from that one place-" Her finger went to her chest, "I--Rori," she offered her name before her finger went back towards him. What a hot little knight in shining armor to spice up her day.
