Grace isn't a particularly superstitious person, but it wouldn't hurt wrapping the guy up in the "good luck" quilt to help him recover better (gonna make a simple comic abt that one day).

Hey guess who watched PHM and fell in love with it and saw all the ship art of Grace w Markiplier and getting curious and confused why and then watching Iron Lung w the bestie and then finally understanding and falling into the bloodmary hole. Not me for sure (lie)

No but the way Peter’s trauma of his autonomy being stolen from him by Mysterio displayed in Brand new day is amazing. No one gets to see him without the mask. No one. It could be written off if you wanted to but how he interacts with Yelena and Frank and even Bruce to an extent are so important to reveal his pain and trauma. He was forcibly outed by someone who betrayed him and he suffered so much because of it.

With Yelena she makes the comment about him keeping the mask on while in the bath house. Frank teases him about the ridiculous way he drinks coffee with the mask on. And the truth is it is ridiculous, but it’s a response from trauma. Even in front of his peers, people like him he can’t let go of his defences, his trauma responses, he is so afraid of being hurt again and betrayed again the mask is the barrier he keeps up protecting himself from anyone and everything. Even those that are genuinely the same as him and wish him no harm.

Yes by the end he and Frank are able to overcome that barrier and trauma and bond through shared grief and reconcile but the whole point of the film was the mask was a way to keep Peter safe by only showing Spider-man. The mask he wore literally became a mask in the full sense of the word, Peter was buried until he needed to be resurrected to survive. The film handles this so perfectly and I don’t think it’s being appreciated enough
