My absolute FAVORITE thing about your Les Mis comics is how, invariably, Courfeyrac's trying to show Marius a good time and Marius wears such a long-suffering expression, like, "I can't afford whatever this is and also I'm half-unconscious from hunger" !

MY GOD, THIS IS MUCH TOO ACCURATE AN OBSERVATION, ANON. Welcome to literally everything I have ever drawn involving Courfeyrac and Marius! From now on, when I feel like I have a punchline with these two in mind, I’m just going to use this template to paste in the joke instead of drawing anything new. IT’S THE SAME COMIC, EVERY SINGLE TIME. ALWAYS WAS.

“I can’t afford whatever this is” is such a Marius reaction fkl;hlg Courfeyrac’s escapades don’t even always involve expenditures, but Marius STILL can’t afford it! There’s German to be done!!!

A great thing about florist AUs is that floristry is another profession that involves the wearing of aprons; granted, those aren’t bistro aprons, but I’M NOT SUPER PICKY WHEN IT COMES TO GAVIN IN APRONS. I’m just PUTTING THAT OUT THERE OKAY. I’m also pleased that Gavin having A GREENHOUSE!!! A GREENHOUSE!!! can very sufficiently be explained by way of Kamski Money. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, but a greenhouse is one of the better ways of squandering technocrat funds! As always I’m fond of Nines being enchanted by fragile organic objects, so I’d like to think that he enjoys padding around inside the greenhouse :’)

“REED’S WEEDS” IS 100% LISTED IN WHATEVER THE 2030S EQUIVALENT OF A PHONE BOOK IS. EVERYONE KEEPS FUCKING CALLING GAVIN AND BEING LIKE “HELLO, I NEED HERBICIDE SERVICES” AND HE’S LIKE “NO! THIS IS A FUCKING FLORIST!” AND THEY’RE LIKE "YOUR BUSINESS NAME IS VERY MISLEADING!!!” and he’s like “well technically doesn’t the business name imply that I would sell weeds” and they’re like “YOU DON’T DO THAT EITHER!!!!!!!”

Another thing I find hilarious is the possibility that Nines is quietly panicking the whole time that Gavin shows up to work with petals in his hair smelling of flowers, because he DOESN’T KNOW THEY’RE IN A PART-TIME FLORIST AU, HE THINKS THIS IS A FUCKING HANAHAKI FIC. “THAT’S NOT A REAL THING,” yells Gavin. “IS YOU OWNING A GREENHOUSE AND A PART-TIME FLORIST BUSINESS A REAL THING?!” Nines yells back.
