I’ve never been happier to be wrong about an episode.
LETS FUCKING REVIEW! (Cloudward Ho episode 15 spoilers ahead)
Before I get into the RowdyHeart stuff, I just have to say it means the world to me how EVERYONE was doing everything in their power to not hurt Torse. He meant a lot to all of them. Like Max has been saying, that’s their guy. He’s part of the group, he doesn’t have to be lonely still :((
But now, for me being deranged.
Maxwell doing the most ungentlemanly thing ever (using a wing suit, how scandalous), it just so happens that he is narratively the only one who could possibly reach Torse. There was no one else that could reach him in time. And of course, he goes for keeping his heart safe.
Marya failed several checks to get Torse to listen to her but all he had to do was SEE Maxwell. That’s all it took. Despite the art and the mini showing otherwise Brennan said that his eyes have always been red, even with the gold heart, but seeing Max come for him in that moment is what made them flicker. His very last words, because he was probably preparing to fall to his death, were to make sure Maxwell knew he meant something to him.
“Torse, don’t worry, we’ll save Zern” still planning to keep his promise to visit and help fix things. No matter what. Even if he thought Torse was already gone in that moment.
Max going for him, always. Going to catch him, helping to move him while he’s unconscious and helpless, CARRYING HIM ON HIS BACK. Max isn’t even the one with the highest strength, Van is, but he’s still going to be the one taking care of Torse.
The way he says that he and Torse are friends. Repeating it like he has to convince himself. I know what you are… (but also I get the importance of him confirming to Torse that yes, I consider you a friend too, please don’t die)
Sad there was no mention of Torse in the previews and his mini wasn’t with Maxwell :( but honestly the fact they aren’t using vague dialogue to scare us (like they did with “I always considered you a friend”) means it’s probably fine.
If we see Torse get permanently decommissioned tonight then I am going to be needing some serious fanfic therapy and I KNOW I will be disappointed by the fact people haven’t written fix-it’s within 5 minutes of the episode being over. I don’t even know how long it would take ME to recover enough to write something, I JUST NEED OUR GUY TO BE OKAY‼️ BRENNAN I WILL BE IN YOUR WALLS‼️YOU WILL HAVE A GENTLEMAN FISTER COMING YOUR WAY‼️
(If this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and you’re only seeing it after the fact… idk feel free to point and laugh I’d deserve it)

After managing to remove the iron heart from Torse once more, Maxwell is forced to reflect on his connection with the metal man as he undergoes repairs, contemplating if it was worth the risk to bring him back. Marya has some wise words of wisdom for him, knowing all too well this feeling of loss.
Just a little two-shot Copium in preparation for today’s Cloudward Ho episode, I wrote it a couple days ago but have been feeling weirdly proud of it. Might turn it into a cute series of Maxwell being useless at courting to ignore whatever horrors await.
I think often about how Daisuke swore to protect Olethra for Comfrey and has continued to do so for years despite all the time he never heard a word from her. He never got to know Olethra for most of it either because he kept his distance, she didn’t even know he was there to be grateful for him. Over time, that thought process of “I must protect her for Comfrey” becomes just “I must protect her” and later still, “I’ll protect her as my own.”
Connecting with the Wind Riders again meant having to hear about all the things Comfrey did that he’s been trying to justify and just can’t anymore. It also meant getting to see Olethra for the adult she is, and realizing that the parts of her that take after her grandmother scare him. Scared that she’ll get carried away, put herself in danger over and over again without any self preservation, and then end up alone just like Comfrey did. He’s an old man, there’s only so much he can do, but he’ll be damned if he ever lets her think she has to go through anything alone. He got scared and bailed on Comfrey and wonders often if he could’ve stopped her descent into madness. He never wants to have to wonder if he made the wrong decision with Olethra.
He promised to take card of her and protect her from ANYTHING. And I think he’s going to have to start protecting her from the very woman that sent him to look after her in the first place.
What is the likelihood that I will forget about this blog quickly? Very high! But no matter, it’s here in the meantime.
This will mostly be used for screaming into the void about ideas I’ll never write or promoting some of the silly things I did end up posting. My fandoms/interests are ever changing but I’ll probably keep coming back to Dimension 20, a curse that has followed me for years now 🫡

I think I want a Torsewell romance just because I need to see Brennan and Murph navigate the roleplay of them figuring out if kissing is on the table and if so, how/where since Torse just straight up does not have a mouth. I’m all for the sexiness of robotfucking but the limitations are just as silly to me
