Rules

No N/S/F/W about characters that are under 18.

If your confession contains elements of generally triggering things (rape, noncon, mindbreak, extreme gore/violence), please put a “CW/TW for [topic]” at the start of your ask. Not just the letters “CW/TW”, but at least say something like “cw gore”.

No positive portrayals of adults being in romantic/sexual relationships with characters under 18.

Please don't use the inbox to namedrop or call out authors or works that you don't like or are uncomfortable with; this blog isn't here to facilitate drama. If you want to complain, please do so without namedropping.

All confessions are put into the queue! So it might be awhile before anything you sent in posts!

it's hard for me to share my work with the world, but at the same time, i want everyone to get their hands on it. I'd even let Disney take all rights and credits for my work if it meant getting enjoyed... I don't know what to feel. I do write a lot of original stories/concepts, and I just disguise it as fanfiction most of the time.

An author I follow did an event where their readers would submit the beginning of a story and then they would write an ending. I worked really hard and submitted mine and they even acknowledged it, but they never completed the ending to it. It bummed me out a lot at the time, now I feel weird because I want to finish it on my own, but I feel like that’s disrespectful. It’s disheartening because I want to do collabs with other authors but when I put myself out there this happens.

When reading fanfiction, my biggest pet peeve is pacing.

There are some fanfics which have about ten completely different events in the one paragraph, and it makes each event redundant and easy to skim past, causing the audience to miss important details. On the other hand, there are some fanfics which reiterate the exact same point more times than many can be bothered to count, which causes the story to drag and for me to lose interest.

I stopped updating one of my WIPs over a year ago (over 90k word over 3 stories). I only have one or two chapters left to write, but I lost inspiration. Nothing I put down on paper for the ending feels worth all the effort I put in for the rest of it. I’ve moved on to other fandoms, and I feel so guilty every time I update an unrelated story. All those emails “so-and-so added chapter” but not the one I need to finish. I wish I could apologize to all those readers.

I am currently writing a story and the main character in it has around 2000 works under their tag and over half of those fics are /readers. It's very annoying when I want to read something wholesome but I reload the page and get face-blasted with explicit works :( I'm hoping that my gen fic will provide some balance but I wish that people would stop being horny

Been writing fanfic for like two years now, a few published works. Had no idea that ‘beta’ meant “beta reader” until a few weeks ago. Like, where do y’all find

I want to write for my OTP, which is one of the rarest pairs I've seen, but I'm to afraid to write for it and post for it, don't get me wrong, I have it in my drafts

Tmw you post a new chapter and you see the hits and kudos counter go up and you're excited to post the next chapter but you gotta hold back because you want more traffic in your fic

i ca n n o t write for anything that's not a rare pair. I just can't. I haven't ever been able not to.

I enjoy writing for smaller fandoms over big ones. With small fandoms I feel less pressure by having 40 people waiting for me to update over the 10 in a small fandom. Even if my first don't get 'big' (something I remind myself for writing small fandoms will happen), I feel more happy.

all my writing is angst about a very niche character and i would have such a larger audience if i wrote about basically any other character from that game

For this one math sheet we had to write a paragraph on the topic at the end and I wrote a full on dr. doofenshmirtz evil monologue on parabolas because that was the only way I could make myself do it that late at night

One of my favorite character mainly has fics about them centered around ptsd. As someone with PTSD I don't mind, but it gets a bit repetative, and sometimes handled poorly.

I feel bad because I have a ton of comments in my AO3 inbox. I don't respond become I don't know what to say. I feel like I need to respond with something meaningful but all I can think of is, thank you! And...is that enough?
