So it seems Bee Balm is also limited in the fact that it only seems to work on people?

Based on your explanations, you seem to be thinking of it like that where it can’t effect the environment?

Is that it? So it can’t fix things like Miraculous Ladybug can? Or am I off?

Either way I think it’s a super cool upgrade! And really cool for Marigold - since her whole hero thing is standing up for herself and the people it’s the people she ultimately protects!

The short of it is that Bee Balm can "heal" the effects of an akuma's powers. And so it tends to be most effective against status changes to people, though it can help against other akuma powers temporarily (ex: Bee Balm could severe Puppeteer's control over Alya, but so long as Puppeteer has the Lady Wifi doll, she could just re-control Alya). So, great for buying time or a last minute save if one of the heroes is effected by an akuma, or if the spread of the akumas powers become overwhelming, like here where Marigold was completely surrounded by Zombizou's minions.

The explicit line is that Bee Balm CANNOT fix property damage (no putting the Eiffel Tower back if it's knocked over or cut in half) and it CANNOT cleanse the akuma itself. Bee Balm basically does nothing to the akuma. This is where you still need the Ladybug Miraculous.

Someone mentioned it made sense to them because when someone is stung by a bee, it captures their attention, like "ow!" and steals their focus for a moment - like snapping someone out of a haze. So, a bee sting snapping someone out of the effects of the akuma. And I'm gonna steal that lol

Doesn't that mean Bee Balm work similar to "Venom" but instead of sting people and make them stun, it's just clear the effect the power of the villain but just like you explain, they could still use their power like normally :P again even after Marigold use Bee Balm
