dylan/iggy intrigues me. of course i don’t think dylan would ever be interested, but seeing iggy try really hard to get him interested would be undeniably entertaining. i’m imagining a drunken confession. i don’t think dylan would ever date any other character in the book. i don’t really like ships with him. i think him showing or having romantic feelings for someone besides max is just so antithetical to his whole character. i know some people are just instantly grossed out by him but you can’t deny it’s interesting. can you imagine coming into existence already an adult? and being programmed to love someone from the moment you are conscious? can you imagine meeting that person who’s all you know, who you see as the whole entire universe, life or death, and they say they don’t want you, and love someone else? his personality can be… a lot. but the concept here is kind of fascinating. and that’s also why i think dylan has borderline personality disorder juuuust like maxaroni. i wouldn’t write max with feelings for anyone but fang (her FP). i don’t wanna do that with dylan either, even if i don’t ship him with max lol, i just don’t like to break the entire premise of a character for fan content (crowd glances around awkwardly because of my evil scientist harem so clearly i do enjoy that) BUT BUT. BUT. anyways

ok the max ride books wormed directly into my brain for . many years. as a teen/preteen. and i dont think i’ll ever go back but i did stumble across your blog and i mean this as a sincere compliment but i feel like we are weird in similar directions and scrolling through your blog and headcanons and such has truly made me smile giggle kick my feet in a nostalgic sort of way. everything youve said about figgy is 100% factual. also its been one billion years so i dont remember but does it ever come up in the books that dex vogel’s last name is just the german word for bird. or did jpatts and/or his ghost writer just not care. anyways thank u and sorry if this is extremely weird

and dex vogel was named by me, so it was intentional!

her name is dextra vogel. i wanted her last name to mean bird because jeb traps her just like one of his experiments. it’s a way to say she’s in a cage without it being literal. dextra means right handed and she’s left handed. i just thought it was funny.

this character DOES canonically exist, but she is only ever referred to as “jeb’s wife” and we have very little information on her besides that she died during childbirth.

jeb is my favorite character so you can imagine this plot hole haunted me. i had to fill it. i genuinely and seriously believe that if ari was written properly by an author who cared about him he would have at least endeavored into who his mother was. it drives me crazy that he and jeb never have a conversation about this. or conversations alone in general, he’s not the main character of course, but there were NINE BOOKS
