“Ah, um, well, you see, I was just wanting to introduce myself, since I believe I haven’t done so yet, correct? I don’t think I’ve introduced myself to you before, that is, and there’s a very low possibility that I would have forgotten doing so.” Kiibo explained.  The robot had a small smile plastered on his face as he looked up at the taller boy.

“Oh, right! My bad.” He said. “I totally forgot, haha.”

While he was thinking to himself quietly, introducing himself to the others completely slipped his mind. He wanted to give everyone a good first impression, to get along with everybody, and now was a good time as any to get started.

“Anyways,” he continued, “my name is Rantaro Amami. And despite the situation we’re in, it’s nice to meet you!”

"Ah-! I see, it is nice to meet you, Amami-kun! My name is Kiibo."

Kiibo gives a small smile. He honestly hopes he made a good enough impression. He wasn't exactly used to introducing himself to anyone, after all this was kinda his first time being out and speaking to people on his own. He was a bit different from the others so he wanted to show them right away that he can be just as human as everyone else.

Now that introductions were taken care of...what next? The robot thought for a moment for a basic conversation starter. "Um..so how are you? Despite out situation that is."

Kiibo wasn’t usually very good with introductions, some people would jump to conclusions about him being a robot. But in a situation like this, it might be a good idea to meet his classmates and make friends. Friends were good right? So…..who could he become friends with..?

He gazed around the gym filled with the other 15 students. The short purple haired boy already teased him about being a robot…..The blonde girl with the steampunk-like style seemed a bit….off….

His mechanical eyes then settled on a tall green-haired boy. He seemed like he could be a pleasant individual. Relatively calm and layed-back. Kiibo eventually decided to approach the boy, walking up behind him and reaching up to tap his shoulder. “Um, Excuse me?”

What a situation this was. Trapped inside a school with 15 other people, who all seemed to be around the same age as him. They must have been his classmates, he guessed. If you could even call them that, it’s not like they’d be attending homeroom any time soon.

Rantaro was deep in reflection when a tap on his shoulder interrupted his thoughts. When he turned around, he was greeted by one of the new faces, and this one was exceptionally interesting. The two of them hadn’t been acquainted yet, but Rantaro could already tell he was different from the others.

“Hm? What is it?”

“Huh? My relationship with God? I do not believe I understand.” The robot was very confused. Why did this girl suddenly approach him and begin asking questions? And who was she? “Can you expla-”

The robot was cut off as the girl began to oooh and awe over the details of his robotic body. “Excuse me, but who are you?” Kiibo asks

“Oh my~! You haven’t heard of her? Her name is Angie Yonaga!” She cooed, as if she were inferring that everyone knows her name. She somewhat knew that the robot as as much a stranger to her as she is to him, but at the same time, she didn’t understand that boundary. Everyone she met was considered a friend– and sometimes, it didn’t even matter if they met, as long as Angie has seen them. “But hey, hey! What is your name? Certainly you have a name, right? Do you have one of those weird robot names, that are made out of numbers?” She thought of the many inferior robots, and how they all had model numbers printed on them, unaware that they also have a given name. Sure, Angie would stumble on the numbers, but she would practice to get things right. Yes, she thought. That would be a start.

“And let Angie guess– you wanna know what brought Angie to you, right?” She had caught on with the cut-off “explain”. “So, what do you want her to explain? Where should she begin?!” She excitedly bounced in her shoes, her voice seeming like the wind– free and happy.

"H-Hey!! That's quite rude if you to assume I am similar to other, simpler, stereotypical robots humans always think of! While I am mechanical like them, I am very different in many ways!! Of course I have a true name!! My name is Kiibo so please refer to me as that!" The robot got a bit defensive. Even if the girl didn't mean to be offensive, it still didn't mean it was okay to underestimate how advanced his technology was.

"And Yes, I would like for you to explain to me!"

❤ @automated-ahoge ❤ Angie sat in her dorm, contemplating to herself. Do robots have a soul in them? Could they be punished or rewarded by God too? She let her thoughts wander, as she was in a meditative state. After a few moments, She heard the robot himself… apparently “God” wanted her to go ask him herself. Why else would the intricately built figure wander by her dorm?  She then began to ponder why she hadn’t thought of it before. Perhaps he just saw him wandering about the school, and there weren’t any robots on her home island. That was her first time seeing an actual humanoid robot. 

Angie flung her door open and met with the other in the hallway. She didn’t even bother asking the robot’s name, but clearly wanted to converse. “Whats-your-name, Angie has a very important question! This is of a divine matter, and you must answer it truthfully, you see!” She seemed urgent in her tone, as she walked alongside Kiibo to outside of the dorms. 

“Your relationship with God depends on it.” She added. In a way, she already knew the answer. She assumed that God implanted a spirit within the robot whenever Kiibo was created, but it was Angie’s way on asking how he felt about it. It was Kiibo that was right or wrong, not Angie.  It was only a matter of time before Angie grew distracted by all of Kiibo’s bells and whistles. “Whoa, you’re much more intricate up close!” She smiled. “Its like Angie is seeing a whole new robot! Your creator must have been inspired by God to the fullest! Nyahahaha!” She dropped the hint that she had been eyeing the robot this entire time, ever since she caught a glimpse of him from minute one, at orientation.

Though I do not think it would be a very good idea to attempt to experiment with such a thing, as it could possibly interfere with some of my functions and cause problems just as it might if it was broken off. “Err...it truly depends...some are better than others, but I still do not understand why humans accept the stereotypical idea of robots as truth....” Kiibo fiddled with his metallic fingers a bit. “Wall-E was one of the better ones, though it still wasn’t ideal...At least Wall-E had some sort of apparent freewill to an extent....as well as seeming more human with the actions and even some emotions in a way.”
