thinking about intern samira who was set on going through residency in a healthy way and put down boundaries for her own mental health, who wanted to be the type of doctor who doesn't make mistakes. who quickly figured out that she needs to push through in order to succeed. thinking about intern samira who pushes further and further. who by the time she's a senior resident has no work-life boundaries or even the memory of what a relaxed nervous system feels like, constantly on the verge of burnout and pushing further. trying to look back and figuring out how she got like this, that she feels like she let intern samira down. wondering what her dad would think of her doing this badly for the sake of her career, with no circle of friends to fall back on, and barely a shred of support from her superiors. thinking about intern samira and how big her dreams probably were and how different her life looks like now

the whole "insulting someone based on their appearance is bad because it could indirectly hurt people you like who share that feature" is a good start for unlearning body shaming but i do think we need to go further and remind people that even if there was some physical trait that was magically 10000% exclusive to conservatives and creeps and nobody else ever had it, we still shouldnt be insulting them based on that. because the problem with them is not their appearance its their ideology and actions. by insulting their appearance you arent just indirectly insulting others who look like that, youre literally not making the correct point. stay on topic ya know.
