watching a bunch of Kate Van Buren’s videos from the self destruct tour and there are quite a few times during the footage where James or Danny or someone will say “rock n’ roll!!” or something in response to their touring accommodations/just to say it and it just makes me smile like yes yes you guys are cool rockstars you are the coolest rockstars in the world and I love you so much

something that really strikes me about the self destruct tour and all the closure footage is how human it makes these guys seem. not really larger than life at all. just a bunch of twentysomethings who act like they’re still going through puberty and make dumb, crude jokes, who nerd out about stuff and act like dweebs, who act shitty to each other, who get drunk and destroy shit and play stupid little games with each other, who play fetch with maisie. idk. there’s a certain degree of vulnerability one has to be willing to subject themselves to by releasing the closure footage. because it’s raw and unflattering sometimes. but that and Kate’s videos really give you the impression that these are just some guys thrown into fame with not an entirely clear idea of what they’re gonna do with it yet
