Guess who’s back in Paris? 🥰
St. Martin canal in Paris
French vintage postcard, mailed in 1903
I want to take a present day photo of this!
I’ve been to Versailles many times, so when I went most recently with my family, I decided to look for dogs in paintings. Here are my findings.
Sam Szafran, Escalier 54 Rue de Seine, 1960
Lyon dinner cruise on the Hermès II - we started on the Rhône and then went through the delta, and up the Saône.
Whitney’s wedding was so fun! Yay for trying new things (raclette, in particular). 🧀
We went to La Clef de Voute last night in Lyon. The walk took us across the Pont Winston Churchill, then up the winding steps of Vieux Lyon. You made it up like a trooper, never stopping to catch your breath. I saw you in your suit as you ascended and I felt that deep-down love for my best friend burning inside. These weeks without you in Paris made my heart ache for yours, and finally reuniting makes me feel like I’m walking on air.
The jazz show blew our minds - we never expected such great west coast jazz in the root cellar of a house older than our country. The quartet played three sets and we were enthralled. You whispered to me, “when I’m on my death bed, I will always remember this,” and I felt like crying.
When we got home, after walking back the way we came, we entered our suite and counted our blessings once again. How wonderful this life is! How fantastic that our zeroes and ones came together to let us enjoy the simulation hand in hand. Here’s to a bright future.
Never forget our beautiful hotel suite in Lyon, along the beautiful Rhône. You said it was the nicest room you’ve ever stayed in and I agreed. Our life is so great.
I babysat for Marie and Renaud last night so they could go out to dinner at a friend’s house. She paid me in cookie dough ice cream (hah) and told me afterwards that they had the best night out because they knew I was at home safely with their kids. She thanked me so many times, but I see it as just another opportunity to get closer to her kids. It’s no secret that I’ve been working my butt off to study French because I don’t want her kids to grow up in a world where we cannot clearly communicate. I couldn’t wait for them to learn English, so here I am! Je suis là!

My sweetness.
A day in the country - Chevreuse and Dampierre-En-Yvelines.
From Here to Eternity
It feels like no time has passed. I love you, Spencer.
I’ve taken a bath every night since I arrived at my flat in Paris. I am not stopping now.
Bon anniversaire, ma sœur, ma meilleure amie. Je t’aime, je t’aime.
