âThe Gallowsâ Movie Review
If you have not seen the movie I am letting you know that this review has spoilers in it and that I am very angry and disappointed. Â
**** Now if you disagree with me you can leave me your opinion in my ask and talk to me. DO NOT ADD ONTO THIS POST!******
Back in June 2015, 16 year old me went to the local Rave theater with my 21 year old sister to see a movie we were both pretty excited for. A movie called âThe Gallowsâ one pretty much everyone was excited to see due to it apparently being the best scary movie of the year.
The movie is Rated R. My 21 year old sister was not allowed to buy my ticket to see the movie and she was over the age and my guardian for the entire night. And today, January, 16 ,2016 my own mom had rented the movie for the two of us to see. Â We watched it all the way through and only laughed because of all the stupidity and jumped maybe once.Â
Now here is why I am disappointed.
It is RATED R! Why you may ask? Well, I went and did some research because well it should actually be rated PG-13. Â
Keep reading to find out why I think so.

5SOS August 19 2015; The Palace Of Auburn Hills
Earlier last year I went to see my favorite band, 5 Seconds Of Summer. And I will say it was probably my favorite concert of the year. Even though I wasnât close to the stage I still had a really good spot at the Palace, it was a great view and the sounds was great, maybe a little too loud but I lived.Â
Iâm gonna say this now, 5SOS is a band you want to see live, even if you donât like them. Theyâre outstanding live and the videos I have arenât bad. 5SOS is literally a family friendly band and Iâm not saying it because Iâm a fan, Iâm saying it because I seen with my own eyes, moms and dads and even grandparents dancing around and having a good time. I saw kids as young as what looked like 2 years old there. Now thatâs amazing
But lets get to the concert now.Â
Lets start with Hey Violet.Â
Hey Violet was once known as Cherry Bomb.
They were the opening act and they werenât the best but they weren't the worst. I love Hey Violet, I wonât lie I did sing along to their song but I felt kinda bad because no one stood up and cheered them on like they would any other band/artist. Not many people know who Hey Violet is but now they do. Theyâve gotten better I will say that and the possibility of them going on tour or their Sounds Live Feels Live Tour makes me happy. I really love the energy they brought on to the stage with them, how they all were happy to be there. I donât remember what member it was but Iâm pretty sure it was Rena, she asked the crowd if they knew who Bill Nye The Science guy was and of course the crowd said yes. She got excited because they said everywhere they went the crowd didnât know who he was are barley knew who he was. So she proceeded to have us sing the theme song. It was great. Over all Hey Violet did great and Iâm proud o them. Hey Violet is a positive group and super energetic and I can tell that they wonât give up.Â
Now on to 5SOS.Â
As soon as Ashton was heard playing the drums everyone was excites, I mean who wouldnât be? Ashton Irwin playing the drums is literally amazing. Anyways, the crowd got excited and he played for a good minute alone on the stage.A light was put on him and the other members came out from back stage. Excitement filled the stage and the crowd. Being the first show on their North American leg of tour after a short break, meant bringing in real good energy and having such a great time and they did.Â
They played their single âSheâs Kinda Hotâ and the crowd had a great time with it, flash back to before 5SOS and Hey Violet came to stage. They played âShesâs Kinda Hotâ for a waiting song and the crowd clapped and sang along and it was great. (I have a video Iâll find it for you)
Back to their performance.Â
Okay, they sound like angles live and I regret nothing. While performing âAmnesiaâ the crowd took over a lot of Calumâs part, he stopped singing and he looked as if he was going to cry. It was beautiful. Lights filled the Palace from everyone's phones and all our voices, it was amazing. Luke killed âDisconnectedâ it was perfect although he almost forgot a line to the song. Michael lead the crowd through âPermanent Vacationâ and he did a wonderful job, he literally killed it. Over all their performance was great and you need to see them live. They picked someone from the audience to join them on stage and play Michaelâs guitar and well letâs jut say, she rocked it and is in a band called Endless Weekend. You should check them out. All 4 of the boys were themselves and yes, Michael said something about having trouble with his mental health... But no need to worry heâs doing okay. The boys were amazing and I donât know how many times Iâm going to say that they are but Iâm going to say it more.Â
As for the energy on stage it was A+. They danced around with each other they all interacted with each other and made sure to get time with Ashton who was busy playing the drums. I loved seeing them act like little kids when the concert ended, Ashton carried Luke off stage. There were guitar picks being tossed into the crowd in front o them. Heck even the security guards gets stickers because they were nice and talked to us and answered questions for us! They knew a lot more than you think.Â
I loved the energy the crowd had and I love the energy they had. I loved seeing parents grandparents and small children having a good time. I loved the experience of seeing them and getting to spend time away from home with my sister.Â
If I had to give a legit recommendation for this concert out of stars, I would give it 15/10 stars. The entire concert was one I will never forget.Â
Iâm happy to say that I am going to see them live again in July 2016. Sounds Live Feels Live is going to be great and one tour to remember. Iâm looking forward to all the new energy coming our way.
all time low experience coming your way
Fashion 101: Specialized 5SOS shoes. 1: The iron ons I got in a 4 pack at a local Clairâs for exactly $4.50 2: I got the shoes 2 years ago on sale at Payless for $15.00. 3: Then I used an iron my mom had in the laundry room. 4: I placed the patches on the outside facing part of the shoe, pressed it on with the hot iron for about 20 minutes each or you can wait until they are stuck to the fabric. 5: I let them sit for a while until there were for sure sticking and cooled down then ironed them on again just to be safe. You can probably find the iron ons online, same with the shoes. Hope you get the chance to try this out. **â The picture above is my finished resultâ **
